Well I Like and Support Hillary
She is my senator and she doing a fine job. Keep bashing her, you only give republicans more strength. Yes she voted for the war, yes she voted for the patriot act, just like 98% of the other senators. I will support her if she does decide to run. She will make a fine President and clean up the Bush mess.

17. Really? How so?
You've heard, haven't you, that a whole bunch of people have been killed over in Iraq over the last three years, in a military occupation which Sen. Clinton pointedly supports the continuation of -- according to Bush himself, over 30,000, and far more according to more reliable sources; and that the Senator has also suggested that military action should be taken against Iran if they pursue a nuclear program which may not even involve the creation of weapons?

The post you're responding to, in so snooty and dismissive a fashion, is about the MASS KILLING of human beings. What's that got to do with gilding lilies?

21. One could also take into account the hundreds of thousands killed
while her husband were president, which she supported. The killing of thousands by sanctions was one of the most memorable actions of the Clinton administration.

Domestically, we can remember the signing of the anti-welfare bill, the push for unFree Trade that made thousands poor, especially abroad.

2. wrong.
republicans voting for republicans give republicans more strength, nothing else.

Your speech was reminiscent of us being accused of "giving aid and comfort to the enemy" by not agreeing with the president.

The fair thing is, lets see everyone's cards on the table, and then decide.

8. Exactly, Sui.
Same Freeper logic. "giving aid to Republicans"

The strange logic is, oppose Republican policies advanced by dems somehow advances Republican Party ambitions is ludicrous.

"Oppose bombing of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq advanced the terrorist cause!"
Try figuring that out! I can't.

38. Good one.
She may be a competant Senator, but I would/could NEVER vote for her for President because of her stance on trying to out warmonger the repukes.

What is she thinking?

It would be bad enough if she were just pandering for position to avoid being labeled "liberal" (god forbid).

But she actually seems to believe half the crap she's spewing lately.

That is outrageous and unforgivable in my book.

Are you going to carry petitions for Hillary's reelection this year? I am, but I would also like to carry petitions for anti-war, anti-death penalty, anti-drug war candidates. I know that Hillary is unbeatable, but I would like to offer the voters in NYS a choice during the primary. What is your opinion on this issue? Peace and low stress, mdmc

11. Hillary can win. Don't believe that she can't.
If you don't like her, that's okay, no skin off my nose. She's not my first choice either (I'd rather see her run as VP).

She is definitely electable. She's a moderate, and that does have a wide appeal.

Clinton did vote to give Bush the power to wage war in Iraq, but that vote was made under false pretenses (that the vote was needed to put pressure on Iraq). Bush picked up the ball and ran with it, more than anyone expected it (Bush was already making war plans and secretly bombing strategic tagets in Iraq well before the vote was taken).

62. She is not seen as a moderate!
She is labeled a liberal and votes for moderate platforms when she is trying to look like a moderate.
She is willing to do whatever will get her a vote vs. what she believes in.
This is the picture non-democrats see of her. My thoughts!

Her husband was also this way but unfortunately unlike her husband she doesn't have his charisma.

Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 09:09 AM by HughBeaumont
Name ONE Red State she'd turn. NAME ONE. To the contrary, we'd actually be in danger of losing PA, MI and WI, were she the nominee.

One actually suggested she'd turn Ohio, Florida AND Virginia. I asked that person what color the sky is in their little world while I was doubled over laughing.

I'd never vote for a person who not only supports the Iraq Oil Grab, but also supports job offshoring and buys into the "rising tide lifts all boats" bullshit. I cannot in all conscience support a woman who favors the destruction of one middle class to lift another.

Hillary helped create it, and has helped it get messier. She has had ample opportunity to speak out and act out against Bush's idiocy, but instead she just keeps going along to get along. That sure doesn't inspire me as a voter.

But if she is the dem nominee, I'll certainly support her over any Republican.

36. Senators or any elected officials

Job is to represent the people who elected them. Evidently, most of Hillary’s constituents supported the war in Iraq and strongly support the “war on Terror” and other things she’s voted for. New York was attacked and they have a large Jewish population so I’m not surprised they might strongly support security issues.

That’s just the way it (usually) works. Hillary represents her district in New York not me here in Alabama.

only when she continues to function as a NY Democratic Senator.

The DLC Democrats and their cronies best learn well and learn early that many of us true liberals will not vote for her in either the primaries, or the general Presidential election.

That disgusting ... swaggering ... war hawk type posture is very unbecoming for anyone who considers themself a democrat.

One thing with Hillary, if she does get the nomination, she'll fight like a junkyard dog to win. There won't be any hesitations by her when the campaign gets negative. Throw a stone at her and she'll return the favor with a brick!

If she wins the primairy I will vote for her because I shudder at the thought of Bill Frist picking two or more judges. However I just think that theyre are four candidates who are more electable than she is right now. THese are Gore Kerry Clark and Feingold, in no particular order. I am not knocking her creditentials, I just want a safer bet because the supreme court is too important to take a chance on.
