Are we going to allow Republicans to position themselves as the "reform" |

Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 09:25 PM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
party??!! How f!@#ed up is that? They are going to reform themselves and be the party of change?! I've already heard some Republican distancing - one said on one show recently "I'm a Reagan Republican". So get ready to head this one off.
As to Reagan Republicans:
I know that with his death there was an orgy of history re-writing, but:
Reagan was the guy who supplied arms for hostages and denied and then admitted his illegal activities Reagan is the guy who ignored AIDS (bird-flu?) Reagan is the guy with the misguided trickle-down, reward-the-rich philosphy
neo-Reagan Republicans are just like Bush Republicans -
It's Morning in America = Brunch in America (for the wealthy)- more of the same buffet if you can afford the entry fee.

"Reform? So are you going to back public financing of elections?
"That's reform. Anything else is a bandaid over a septic wound."
