Proper role for Republicans is as critics, not in leadership |
|
This is glaringly obvious. Since FDR's days at least and even during Clinton's, the Republicans contribution to politics has been best in the role of critic. When it comes to leadership, Republicans just don't have what it takes to get the job done. Only Democrats can provide the country with what the military says is the ability to "improvise, adapt, overcome". Republicans can't provide that essential need !
The quote is from the movie Hearbreak Ridge, btw.

1. They hate government, or so they say |
|
It seems fairly obvious that they would work to destroy what they hate, just as they've been doing.

8. But eventually that money becomes worthless under their leadership |
|
With mindboggling deficits in trade and govt. requiring a devaluation of currency. Combine that with the upcoming Iranian petro-euro bourse on March 20 and you have the makings of a hugh economic downturn.
On the bright side (?) all those jobs in manufacturing will probably return to the US, since the dollar will be sooooo worthless under Republican "leadership".

4. They do remind me of their enemy the Soviets |

in the fact that the Marxist position of 'the withering away of the state' seems to be identical to what the Norquist's position is on government, wouldn't you agree ?

2. Adapt, improvise, overcome |

as opposed to stay the course when you are about to go over a cliff. But bush's base loves the course. The ignorant religiously insane flock is fueling the trip over the clif. There is not one "conservative" republican leader in Washington. You are right, they are not leaders, they are immoral leeching scum.
My favorite quote from Heartbreak Ridge - "Jarhead Motherfucker" what the marine said after Clint Eastwood ripped the earring off his ear.
