2. Hey, what a great feature . . . but |
|
I miss access to "my posts" directly while viewing "discuss" or "latest" threads. Any chance that "my posts" will be available again from those features?

You do have direct access to your posts from anywhere on the discussion forum. Just click "My DU"

11. No. No, misunderstanding at my end. |

I appreciate the availability of this new "My DU" feature. That is, the new ability to access "My DU" while on any DU page which, in turn, allows access to "my posts."
However, I do miss the past (removed) feature of "my posts" and its access directly from any DU page despite "my posts" being available now through "My DU."
Thus, I inquired whether it was possible to have, again, direct access to "my posts" (as before) from any DU page w/ its icon on the top of every DU page.

12. There is still a misunderstanding here. |
|
You do have direct access to "My Posts." Just click "My DU" then set the number of posts under My Posts to 999. Then your "My DU" page will have all of your "My Posts," and no additional clicking will be necessary.
What I'm trying to say is: My DU *is* My Posts, if that's what you want it to be.

14. Yes, I fully understand what you are saying . . . however |
|

. Yes, I fully understand what you are saying . . . however, I am saying that I prefer to have "my posts" button/icon/availability remain in all DU webpages as it was before it was changed. I prefer the older one-step access to "my posts" instead of the new two-step access through "My DU." S'all.
Not meaning to take-away from the new "My DU" button/icon/availability. It's a nice addition. However, I still prefer the one-step access to get to "my posts."
Thus, I was inquiring if both can be available. Both "my posts" and "My DU" button/icon/availability on all DU webpages.
And, thanks for the responses, Skinner.

I am going to post in all caps, because you aren't getting this.
You say: "I prefer one-step access instead of the new two-step access."
My answer is this: YOU NOW HAVE ONE-STEP ACCESS TO MY POSTS.
No additional clicking is necessary. *ALL* of My Posts are available on the My DU page. *ALL OF THEM* No additional clicking is required. JUST ONE CLICK is all you need. It's *all* right there on the My DU Page.
I don't know how to make this any clearer.

. Uuummm, okay. I don't dispute and I do appreciate what you are saying. Sure, to access "my posts" is a one-step process if (and only if) one is already on "My DU" webpage. However, no where else on any DU webpages is access to "my posts" a one-step process as it was before the change -- which is my point (please see my original post #2 in this DU thread). Access to "my posts" is now a two-step process from other than "My DU" webpage.
Access to "my posts" has been a one-step process from any DU webpage due to the available "my posts" button/icon on all DU webpages, up until the change to "My DU" on all DU webpages. Thus, it was, and remains, my suggestion that "my posts" button/icon be re-instated on all DU webpages. I have no issue w/ the "My DU" button/icon, and believe it's a positive addition but does not substantiate the removal of "my posts" button/icon from all DU webpages.

20. I'll try one last time. However, I don't expect a response . . . |
|
. 1. Look at the top of this webpage. "My posts" button/icon is gone. Thus, I cannot access "my posts" from this webpage, directly. This is true of any DU webpage, except "My DU."
2. I cannot access "my posts" from any webpage, except from the new "My DU" webpage.
3. Thus, access to "my posts" has gone from a one-step process from any and all DU webpages (except from "My DU") to a two-step access because "my posts" icon/button now resides on "My DU" only.
4. I prefer a one-step access to "my posts" from all DU webpages as it was before the immediate change.
5. Finally, the new "My DU" webpage is a great addition. But, IMO, should be in addition to, not in replacement of, a "my posts" icon/button on all DU webpages.

1. Click "My DU"
2. Look closely at the page which appears. You'll see two rows of icons, including the "My Posts" icon.
3. Look just BELOW those icons. Voila: there's your My Posts list right there. If you want to see more posts in that list, type a high number (like 999) into the box next to where it says "Show how many posts?" and click "Update."
Make sense?

point is that:
1. I enjoy the layout of the old "my posts" page b/c it contains the DU forum in which my post appears; and
2. I enjoy the old access to the old "my posts" page.
But enuf said, doncha think? Indeed. On that we both agree. Thanks, Skinner, and EarlG too.

I'm a working stiff, and can only participate at DU intermittently, so sometimes lose track of my posts and others' replies, and can't recover the older ones. Now I can. A great help! Very thoughtful of you-all! Keep up the good work! DU is mighty spiffy these days!

10. I have a question, Skinner. |
|
Don't know if it's possible, but would there be a way to change the subject of topics in our Bookmarks folder, like one can do with their bookmarks outside of DU? There are threads that I save for something said within a thread, and it's not always easy to identify from the OP subject. Just a thought, and thanks again!
