The Angry Left
Every time I hear this term I wonder why people seem to feel the need to distance themselves from it. I'm a member of the angry left and I don't care what hannity, o'lielly or the rest of that ilk think.
(1) We have eight billion dollars that just disappeared under the Provisional Authority,
(2) Iraq is on the brink of a Civil War,
(3) The Taliban have achieved a serious foothold in the mountains of Pakistan,
(4) Osama bin Laden (you remember him) is still on the loose,
(5) The president doesn't feel bound by legislative decisions,
(6) Last year the foreclosure rate rose every month and is still rising,
(7) Salaries are dropping against the cost-of-living,
(8) The savings rate continues to dip,
(9) The poverty rate continues to climb,
(10) About 50% of all adult Americans are either uninsured or under insured,
(11) NOLA victims continue to do without many basic necessities,

And the presidents priority continues to be tax breaks and sabre rattling with Iran.
You're damn right I'm angry.

EVERYBODY OUGHT TO BE F**KING ANGRY!

4. That's right up there with "tax and spend Democrat"
I'm proud to be one because the alternative is borrow and spend republican. We can all see how well that's working out.

Stay angry.

7. Taxs are an investment to the country...
Too bad the Repugs don't see that. I seriously think if the Dems take control in '06, there's going to be a lot of crap they are going to have to undo...

As for being angry, hell yeah I'm angry. There are people in my state that can't get jobs. My best friend can't even get a job and she's frustrated all the way up.

9. I (almost) hope a repug becomes Prez
and the congress is democratic. What fun that could be! Let the responsibility to 'fix' everything be a repug president's.

godless, n----r loving, hollywood elite, northeast (have I forgotten anyone) ....liberals"

To call any of those epithets "angry" is an understatement.

10. I'm angry
for all of the examples you gave, in addition to using torture, locking people up indefinitely without charges, spying on Americans without warrants, and stealing the elections. Anybody who isn't angry right now must be ultra wealthy, or a right-wing fundie, who thinks that because Chimp says he's a Christian, he's telling the truth. He is by far the worst president ever.

11. The way I see it
if you really love America, you should be angry. You should be steaming-hot furious at what they've done. I'm angry and non-apologetic.

14. They're trying to paint us as irrational....
when, as you point out, anger is the only rational response to what is going on.

Plus, for many middle-class white people, anger is taboo and scares them. So the Right-wing noise machine plays that up.

19. As you pointed out, we have plenty to be angry about
Unlike the right, who are only angry when their masters tell them to get angry over something.

21. Welcome to DU!
Funny how they forget such things.

Also funny how it is considered unbecoming or childish when we are angry, but righteous when they are angry. :eyes:

22. There is plenty to be angry about.
The trick is not take it out on each other but rather to channel into kicking the ever lovin' shit out of the Republicans in November and then prosecuting the bastards.
