One of the reasons the Dem's aren't putting out a unified |
|
election response now is simply because they don't have all their candidates in place....
They are running primary elections now which are even more localized than the general election....
Once the primaries are over, look for there to be a lot of unified photo ops, ala Gingrich in 1994....
They have a plan....
They just aren't sure of all the players yet...

It is very expensive to run a sustainable PR campaign...
They are setting the tone at the local level....

What is the PR campaign selling if there is no record of action to base it on?

23. Late Primaries can be fatal |
|
to Democrats trying to run up against an incumbent republican. Many PAC's won't endorse a candidate until after the Primary.

3. This may be true, however; they had glimpses of who |
|
might be thinking about running in January....they know the elections are in November and they are dragging their feet...
Is it really that they are afraid to put their candidates out yet because they want to limit the time that swiftboating can be implemented against the candidates?

10. Well, they also do not have a big old pile of money |
|
They need to spend their money strategically......
Beleive you me, when they start hammering at the GOP come October, you will see that it was all worth waiting for....
Plus, the earlier they tip their hat, the easier it will be for the GOP to respond....

4. A couple of other things to consider.......... |
|
.....the republicans didn't have their candidates all figured out when they came out with PNAC, "Contract with America", or any of their messages either.
On top of that, if Democrats do figure out a party message how many here at DU do you really think would agree with it anyway?? Me? I'll take most anything over what we have in DC now.
Just some thoughts.

31. DLCers would be better, but would likely give cons and |
|
their corporate sponsors enough slack to organize their next assault on democracy.
I'm not holding out for socialized medicine, but they at least need to go far enough with an anti-corruption plank that it will clean some of the corporate tapeworms like Lieberman and Biden out of the Democratic Party eventually.

Six weeks before the election.
We criticize Republicans for corruption, imcompetence, and lies.... they can only criticize us for how run our campaign. That says a lot.
We'll see what they think about our campaign when the polls close.

pursuing.
A strong anti-corruption plank would be nice, but hard to believe if Democrats don't at least publicly acknowledge Bush's corruption and crimes.

Also, Feingold may have been calling attention to himself for his run for the Pres in 2008...
There are all sorts of stuff that goes into these decisions....
Personally, I thin RF jumped too soon....
They should have done this right before recess.....
That's just my opinion....

public is what is missing in American politics and RF saying what needs to be said ought to have been done right AFTER Spector had stated Bush exceeded his authority and BEFORE the committee chose to change the law so Bush's acts were no longer a crime. Er, how 'bout after the Dubai Port deal or the losses of lives in Iraq due to the nonexistsent civil war.

|
when asked if he "favored Censure" he said "there would need to be investigations first" I think that was a very good an honest answer!
This way he didn't commit himself either way, which certainly leaves the door open!
