MT Sen poll - Dems beat Burns, but not Rehberg or Racicot |
|
http://www.swingstateproject.com/2006/03/poll_roundup.phpMT-Sen: Rasmussen also has a new poll on this race. Both Tester and Morrison beat Burns (46-43 and 48-43 respectively). Rasmussen also looked at what would happen if Burns dropped out and Denny Rehberg or Marc Racicot replaced him. Those numbers look very bad for us: Rehberg beats Tester by 56-37 and Morrison by 53-41, while Racicot beats Tester by 57-34 and Morrison by 56-36. Ouch. Schweitzer, meanwhile, clocks in with a 73-24 approval rating.

4. Neither is in the race. But if Burns drops out due to massive Abramoff |
|
problems, Rep. Rehberg or former Governor, former RNC Chair Racicot could be tapped to try to salvage the Senate seat.

And Burns isn't dropping out. As far as I know, Racicot is finished with elective office. This sounds like wishful thinking by Republicans.

I doubt the validity of the figures.

Well maybe those Montana newspapers can start asking some questions again about Racicot's draft number during Vietnam. They established the probability that Racicot never registered for the draft. That ought to finish him off with Montana voters.

8. Don't forget Rehberg's vote to privatize public lands.... |
|
That would sink him instantly if he ran.

9. Any luck with that issue yet? Any relevant sources we can push |
|
to point out that it seems he would have been called up IF he had obeyed the law and registered? You are right, it would hurt him big.
Also, lets talk about him almost bankrupting the state building prisons then going to work for ENRON, the RNC and bush/cheney 04 where he helped promote the guys with the bad poll numbers now ;)

10. Try this one on Racicot. |

http://www.buzzflash.com/editorial/04/03/edi04019.htmlI don't know if it makes the point you're looking for, but it's a starter kit.

14. Even if those two jump in |
|
Those are, relatively speaking, fairly small margins that can be overcome. No matter what, the GOP will have to put more money than usual into this race, meaning that money will not be available elsewhere.
