DC area DUers: Helen T., Al Franken speaking today
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 10:49 AM by spooky3
I received this from MediaMatters. It's been advertised on WAMU so I assume it's open to all interested, as long as they have seats.

On Wednesday, April 5th Media Matters for America will host a discussion titled “Why Media Matters: Progressive Voices and the Media.” Participating in the panel will be Eleanor Clift, Contributing Editor of Newsweek Magazine; Al Franken, Host of the Al Franken Show; Helen Thomas, Columnist for Hearst Newspapers; and Danny Goldberg, CEO of Air America.

As the moderator, I will lead the panel in a discussion on such topics as:

* Can progressives find their media voice?
* Is news coverage skewed on either side?
* What can consumers of news do to ensure accurate and reliable reporting?

If your schedule permits, I certainly hope you can join us for this thoughtful and informative event.

DATE: Wednesday, April 5th
TIME: 3:30pm door open; 4:00pm panel discussion begins
WHERE:

Jack Morton Auditorium, George Washington University
805 21st Street, NW
Washington, DC

Please RSVP to Michelle Lee at 202.756.4105 or mlee@mediamatters.org
