while I'm not sure if bush* had "legal authority" or not -- it is clear that he freaking LIED when he said he didn't know who the leaker was...
HE LIED! and i don't want to hear sugar-coated terms like "misled"
HE LIED, plain and simple PERIOD!

Words mean nothing, it's the actions I care about. As long as they're working towards securing investigations and standing up, I'll be happy.

You ever notice how often the resident idiot where you work parrots exactly something Bill Frist said the day before? Or Bush, or McClellan, or Delay or Hastert?
That's the dynamic here. A lot of good Democrats won't jump on the bandwagon if the drivers of the bus don't start saying clearly where it's going. If you get the Democratic leadership using the words "Bush lied", and standing by them, pretty soon the public will begin to echo that chorus. Then that constant chatter will empower even moderate Dems to stop pandering and grow a bit of backbone as well.
In the end you have a huge upwelling torrent of anger, all directed exactly where it belongs. But someone has to LEAD first, and that someone is the Dems in Congress.
