Will Repugs embrace the concept of the "Unitary Executive" when * is out? |
|
Will they give a Democratic President the same "get out of jail free card" to lie, break laws and wage war at will? Do they understand that they will never ever have a shred of credibility left to discuss what is "legal" or "right" or "moral"? Never again will they be allowed to shout "Rule of Law! Rule of Law!" with bulging eyeballs, red faces and thrusting finger points. Do they realize they are giving up all the things they most enjoy - like pomposity and sanctimony?

They'll simply do what they did to Bill Clinton: fling excrement until something sticks. Basically, any Democratic President from now on better reconcile him/herself to the fact that they will spend at least 50% of their time defending themselves from smear campaigns, libels, false criminal charges, financial investigations, Impeachment attempts and anything else the Republicans can dig up (or make up).

5. We'll just have to throw those who smear the President into jail |
|
We'll have to start by declaring anti-gay groups to be terrorist organizations (they can replace the Quakers, Food Not Bombs, The Siera Club, etc.) on the list. Then we can wiretap those groups without a warrant.
Oh, I can't wait until President Boxer has unlimited power to wiretap, search, detain and execute anyone she wants to!
Pat Robertson to Gitmo!
All Hail The Unitary Executive!

that's what's so aggravating about their behavior now, and worse, the MSM's apparent lack of memory.

3. The media would be lenient to a Dem President for the first 100 |
|
seconds . . . whereas the media is going to be starting to really look at Bush's presidency after the first 100 . . . years . . .

6. I'm sure that when we have a Democratic President, they will see |
|
the error of their ways and try to take back all of the special powers that Bush has been allowed. There will be a lot of crying and gnashing of teeth. Frankly, I wouldn't want to see any President with that kind of power, regardless of party. That is just too much power to rest in one individual.
