Poll question: Do you think Bush is capable of dropping a nuke on the US if he
feels too threaten or just because he is pissed off enough.

3. This man is capable of ANYTHING! AND he has no logic at all!
Most of what he has done I never thought any President of the US would ever do, why would I think anything is beyond him?

5. He doesn't have to openly "drop a nuke" on The US
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 04:29 PM by IanDB1
All Bush has to do is look the other way when a Presidential Briefing Document crosses his desk titled, "Al Queada has a nuclear device in a U-Haul truck on Van Nuys Avenue in Los Angeles that will detonate at Noon Tomorrow," and then claim it was a "historical document."

Or, he could just nuke Iran, and when the Chinese get caught in a huge cloud of toxic radioactive fall-out, they will insist on America being willing to accept "casualties-in-kind" inflicted by a limited retaliatory strike.

6. not another scaremongering thread
why don't you make aquantance with reality instead of drummin up another bogey-man thread. btw I think you might have got your target country mixed up, ie "Bush drops bomb on U.S."

If this is an attempt at disruption it's an abysmally poor one.

9. What I thik a lot of people dont realize
If the US launches 1 nuke
other nations will retaliate in kind.

We are about to see the movie "War Games" live and in person if this madman is not removed from office!
It almost happened during the cuban missle crisis, but neither leader wanted to be responsible for starting world war III
I dont think Bush has that kind of restraint, or even comprehends the result of launching a nuke

10. I voted no but...
If you mean is Bush morally bankrupt enough to try, I might agree.

If you mean he is "capable" as you said in your OP, I gotta say no. The system does have safeguards, and I don't believe the people who actually control the nukes would go along with it.

11. Yeah, but he controls the people...
who are in charge of the nukes. Couple of firings, and hirings of repugs and sick fundies, and it could very easily happened.

12. They're all military
I suppose it's technically feasible he could assemble a set of very loyal, fundie maybe, officers and arrange to have them assigned to the same missile silo. Bomber wouldn't be feasible--takes too many people to put an armed aircraft into the air. With a missile, there would still have to be a half a dozen of them or more, I think, because of the way the codes are controlled. And to get them all there at the same time, without suspicion, he'd have to be planning it over a couple of years because of assignment cycles.

It just seems awfully far-fetched. But an interesting idea for a movie script.

14. Bush would nuke a city with a large LGBT population
Bush would then brag about it and the Christian Jihadists will close ranks around him, and the DLC would tell us to keep our powder right for a more important issue.
