I just got home and don't know any news up to the hour. I'm going to listen to Ray's archive now since I can't stay up so late to listen live.
Btw, is Bernie going to be back tonight? Karel has been filling in since Monday. Also, last night I couldn't get the audio to work online no-how. Only heard some of the news. The program and local road conditions went silent except for the little music they play to let you know they're alive.

2. Oh, I didn't know that Karel was standing in for Bernie |
|
Doggone it. Chile, Scotty resigned and Rove has been "relieved" of his duties at the White House to concentrate on working for the republican races in the upcoming election cycle. hmmmm...

3. Oh okay - I did here those pieces of news |
|
And I'm hoping that Bernie is back tonight, then! I think I heard Karel mention the days he'd be sitting in and it didn't sound like a full week.
Bernie is one of the very best for commentary and debate. I'm not religious but I even listen to his Sunday God Talk via the archives on Sunday afternoons. Just need a Bernie fix!
Thx!

13. I don't remember and they haven't posted it on the site. |

I know Karel has repeated it several times in the past 2 days though. Sorry, I don't remember her name.

17. I also catch her regular gig at TalkCity radio1340am M-F |
|
In fact I'm listening to her as I type and she is already talking about Scotty's retirement. She is also promoting the protest against Bush* on Sat. at the Calif. Fuel Cell Partnership in West Sacramento. She has already lined up some 'Secret' banners the will be ready to unfurl. Banging the drum, Christine is always the activist, but she is also genuine journalist - a real item these days.
She's strong on Sacramento/inland politics that includes the Doolittle scam and the putz Pombo. She has done wonderful interviews with their respective opponents, Charlie Brown and Pete McCloskey. But, when all is said and done, her stock in trade is bashing Arnie - something I never get tired of.
Expect a good mix of everything tonight.

8. I have Bernie withdrawals too |
|
but Ray has been spot on all week! I really loved his SFC quake night, it kept me awake almost the whole night through.
Christine is good but she has this weird infatuation with Bill Twatwaffle that annoys the crap out of me. I don't turn on Twatwaffle, I'd rather hear nothing than listen to that Bushstain harp about "enviro-whackos" and "Bush bashers". I wish I knew exactly what happened between him and Karel, did anyone keep up on that? I have sent KGO several emails asking them to remove Twatwaffle, except for him, I love the lineup! He's the turd in punch bowl so to speak.
We adore Karel too and I like the lady that was in last week for Ray, Amy something. She was pretty good. I miss Shawn Nix, she kept me giggling most nights when she was on.
I wish we had a KGO listeners group, I've been listening to late night KGO since I was probably 13 years old, over 20 years! Up here in Oregon, it comes in after the sun sets and fades out when the sun rises in the morning. Lately some GAWD station has been firing up around 6:15 am and bleeding over the KGO signal, and forcing me to switch the whole thing off.

10. Can you listen online? |
|
I used to have a speaker in the bedroom so I could listen. A long wire but it worked. Now, I finally have a laptop and with the wireless, I can pick up whatever with the laptop in the bedroom.

but I don't have a spare speaker, and my hubby takes over the laptop when I go to bed. I've done the streaming thing and it's very clear, but man when you are half sleeping half listening and it goes blank for a local commercial, your mind falls away then suddenly you hear this KGO EIGHT TEN--- 8 zero 8 zero 8 ten THIS IS THE BERNIE WARD SHOW and it seems so loud because a moment ago it was so silent. I've never listened to Ronn Owens but have heard the late night guys complain about his show.

KGO810.com comes in clear as a bell. It has dead time because they don't stream the commercials but it's great...

15. OK tell me the most annoying commercials on KGO |
|
My least favorite is well, the LESKO guy is tops, but followed closely by the moronic dude trying to get you to get a loan through him. He talks like a hick repuke and pronounces his 5's like FAHVE, slurs his words and then has this stupid "it's the biggest no brainer in the history of mankind" which just conjures up images of Larry the Cable pud or some similar simian.
My friend who listens used to get really pissed off at the "Light Party" commercials. Remember those?
We always laugh at Gene Burns and his NEW PANE windows "window test".
