John Bolton & Joel Kaplan Both Have DARK Election Obstruction Past
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 10:32 PM by peacetheonlyway
What do John Bolton (our necon UN representative beating the war drums for nuclear war with Iran) and Joel Kaplan, our new Policy Deputy Chief of Staff have in common?

OK DU Friends, don't think for a minute this Bush staff shakeup is anything other than a meticulously orchestrated 'appease the masses' effort to shine newer light on a very sagging presidency. Worse, we have put into place GOP operatives that have so little regard for the fundamental election system in this country, they loyally and quite criminally broke several Florida statutes in what is famously called (named so by Joel Kaplan himself) THE BROOKS BROTHERS RIOT. This name came because the rioters were dressed in very preppy Brooks brothers clothing... (see picture)...

Shortly after Nov. 7th, 2000 on the 19th floor of a Miami Dade Canvassing Board office,
an estimated 80 people paid by the Bush Election Campaign stormed the offices
and shutdown the recount of the 2000 Bush V. Gore election.

According to the Yurica Report....
"The rioters threatened people, shouted, banged on doors and walls and demanded that the counting of the votes be halted. The canvassing board caved in by reversing its decision and canceled the vote-counting on the spot. (But later board members claimed they were not intimidated.) According to James Moore and Wayne Slater (in Bush’s Brain), “Documents released to the IRS 19 months after the election, show the Bush team spent over a million dollars to fly operatives into Florida and another million to pay their hotel bills.” Corporate jets owned by Enron and Halliburton, two corporations with close ties to Mr. Bush and Cheney, (who may be part of the Bush-Cheney enterprise) were used for the project."
http://www.yuricareport.com/Law%20&%20Legal/RICO_Prosecution.htm

further information shows exactly how much some of these rioters got paid:
"According to the IRS published documents, the Bush campaign also paid individual rioters: Matt Schlapp, a Bush staffer from the Austin office received $4,276.09; Thomas Pyle, a staff aide to House Majority Whip Tom DeLay, $456; Michael Murphy, a DeLay fund-raiser, $935; Garry Malphrus, House majority chief counsel to the House Judiciary subcommittee on criminal justice, $330; Charles Royal, a legislative aide to Rep. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. $391.80; and Kevin Smith, a former GOP House staffer, $373.23. Moore and Slater tell us that Karl Rove and James A. Baker III put it all together. According to the Miami Herald, July 14, 2002: Three of the rioters went on to jobs in the Bush White House: they include Schlapp, who became a special assistant to the president; Malphrus, who became deputy director of the president's Domestic Policy Council; and Joel Kaplan who became another special assistant to the president."

Our fearless warmongering UN Representative John Bolten is also implicated in this serious affront to the most basic foundation of a democratic government, ballots counted correctly and accurately to assure the candidate is indeed the one chosen by the populace...

*** According to Carol Rosenburg,
"Bush Recount Troops Land Plum D.C. Jobs

Many of president's appointees fought Gore's bid to take Florida, White House

by Carol Rosenberg, July 14, 2002

John Bolton, undersecretary of state for arms control, caused a stir in May by accusing the Cuban government of transferring bioweapons technology to rogue nations. Nineteen months ago, he caused a different stir -- bursting into a Tallahassee library on behalf of the Bush-Cheney campaign to stop a recount of Miami-Dade County ballots."

DEAR HOWARD DEAN.
How are we going to win the 2006 congressional races and put democrats in office, when the people controlling all 3 branches of our government, the masterminds and thinktank controllers of our military, our treasury, our RULE OF LAW (judicial branch), have a history of violating basic statutes and obstructing American electoral process. How is this group of folks going to allow (along with 75 Million votes on KNOWN FLAWED ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES) how are we going to win seats in congress?

and if you think Karl Rove is stepping down for one second, consider yourself duly warned... I remember when Bill gates demoted himself and only gave himself more power from behind the limelight during the Microsoft Antitrust Legal Challenge... it's a popular SWORDFISH kind of move to make people think you're not the guy but instead the acting as a shadow with less power, you then give yourself more power because you are not as accountable or as visible.... (this has been cheney's motif since day one)....

any ideas on how we can subvert these new appointments?

1. Imagine an entire staff
focused on rigging the next 2006 elections.

it won't be hard... 44 Diebold machines out of 80+ counties in ohio...

Diebold making its way back into California after a lawsuit proving they were not secure..

and many ES&S wins and a very sad group of folks that thinks paper ballots printed out by the machines (but still electronically counted votes) will make a damn difference...

I'm most worried about the Kaplan appointment....

more on the brooks brothers revolte..

4. Robert Greenwald names all the "protesters"
in one of his docs, "Unprecedented". Also shows vote counters denying the impropriety in the recount that the GW campaign was alleging. Too bad the "rioters" weren't exposed as operatives by the MSM.

5. Greenwald - awesome filmmaker....
is working on a very interesting new Movie "Iraq for Sale" and from what I hear, it
will blow the lid off much of the Iraq war corruption...follows the money scandals...

will likely have as many folks in Washington as worried as Fitzgerald indictments.

when americans do the math and put all the pieces together as I oddly think
they are doing even without a cooperative MSM, I think there will be a retribution and an accountability the likes of which make the Nixon era look like a sunny day in the park. that's my hope anyway...

the documentary you mention is the only one I have not seen and I will have to go get it now....

I can't help but draw analogies to Yale, Duke, Miami Brooks brothers and wonder if our biggest enemy might not be college Frat Boy organizations and their cultivation of future criminals... now that's one heck of an angle.....

kinda like "the young and stupid and blindly loyal to evil organizations"...

kinda like pitting our brooks brothers boys against the blindly loyal terrorist bombers and how both commit crimes against humanity by not considering their own futures or what their role in society rightfully should be....

which is worse... a terrorist bomber in Palestine that kills 20 folks in a cafe or a college Frat Boy operative that helps Bush get illegally elected and their facilitating Bush's causing 2700 innocent american soldiers to die for a useless war and many hundreds of thousands innocent iraqi's to die... which is worse?

6. listing of people in photograph..
it's unfair of me not to name the folks in the picture so all of america can see who the traitors are to a true democracy..

Paraphrased from
Miami 'Riot' Squad: Where Are They Now?

By Al Kamen
Monday, January 24, 2005; Page A13
<snip>

Matt Schlapp, No. 6, a former House aide and then a Bush campaign aide, has risen to be White House political director.
Garry Malphrus, No. 2 in the photo, a former staff director of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on criminal justice, is now deputy director of the White House Domestic Policy Council.
Rory Cooper, No. 3, who was at the National Republican Congressional Committee, later worked at the White House Homeland Security Council and was seen last week working for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
No. 1. Tom Pyle, who had worked for Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.), went private sector a few months later, getting a job as director of federal affairs for Koch Industries.

No. 7. Roger Morse, another House aide, moved on to the law and lobbying firm Preston Gates Ellis & Rouvelas Meeds. "I was also privileged to lead a team of Republicans to Florida to help in the recount fight," he told a legal trade magazine in a 2003 interview.

No. 8. Duane Gibson, an aide on the House Resources Committee, was a solo lobbyist and formerly with the Greenberg Traurig lobby operation. He is now with the Livingston Group as a consultant.

No. 9. Chuck Royal was and still is a legislative assistant to Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), a former House member.

No. 10. Layna McConkey Peltier, who had been a Senate and House aide and was at Steelman Health Strategies during the effort, is now at Capital Health Group.
