Dear xxx,

President Bush and his cronies are leading our nation down a dangerous path. Their hubris led us into a war in Iraq they have no plan for ending. Their incompetence caused a catastrophic failure to provide even the most basic response to the devastation brought by Hurricane Katrina. Their greed allowed energy and environmental regulations to be literally drafted by the very industries that stand to gain the most profit. The America we believe in is at risk.

Now it's time to do something about it -- and you have been so wonderful about helping every time I ask you.

George Bush's approval ratings continue to set record lows. The latest polls show that we can elect a Democratic Senate in November. Now is the time for you to join the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and support its campaign to check the power of this President and get us back on track.

I agreed to be a Vice Chair of the DSCC because I believe in the organization's unique role in Senate elections around the country. Only the DSCC will make sure our Democratic Senate candidates have the resources they need to fight back. No other organization coordinates our national message and our limited national resources like the DSCC.

But to be successful, the DSCC relies on the support of dedicated Democrats like you and me. Join the DSCC today and you'll get all the inside information on key Senate races around the country. You'll also be a part of the nationwide campaign to elect a Democratic Senate and change the balance of power in Washington:

Again and again, we have seen this Administration turn its back on fundamental American values. Senate Republicans have been willing accomplices, all too ready to abdicate their responsibility to hold this administration accountable.

We saw it with the war in Iraq where Senate Republicans refuse to investigate whether or how the Bush administration distorted and misused intelligence in the drive to war. Just recently, it was revealed that the President himself directed the leaking of classified intelligence information in order to undercut administration critics. Twisting intelligence to support your political aims flies in the face of American values.

The only way to change this dangerous direction and start undoing the damage is to elect a Democratic Senate to hold this administration accountable for their actions.

Now is the time to act. Please join the DSCC today:

Helping our PAC for a Change is a great way to help our progressive Democratic Congressional candidates.

Helping the DSCC is a very direct way to focus in on taking back the Senate.

Thanks again for all you do to make our country all it can be!

In Friendship,

Barbara Boxer

1. Always good to be enjoined to a good cause by a great senator.
A blue House in November begins with donations and volunteering now.

2. How sad to hear about this
I thinks she's making a horrendously terrible decision here; however, she still gets credit for being one of the few progressives left in the Senate. Unlike Feinstein, I'll continue to support her.
