Poll question: If Bush replaced Cheney with Condi, would it help their popularity?
I don't think their policy is going to change one iota, and any staff changes are just window dressing. But would this bit of window dressing fool the rubes?

1. For reasons unknown to me, Condi has high approvals
She is a war criminal and a liar, but too many people seem not to know it.

2. Yes. Brief spike and then back in the tank. Iraq is a disaster.
No domestic agenda or even modest inititatives are on the horizon. Those discussed are resisted by even GOP lawmakers. The public is pissed off, feeling lied to and likely is even less pleased with sky-high pump prices.

Condoliar is not going to tilt the balance, even after the first 2-weeks' press flurry.

4. No because of 2 words: Katrina and Ferragamo
Most Americans don't think about Condi. Make her VP and they'll be reminded of her shopping for shoes while Katrina victims drowned.

6. It would stop the bleeding, I think.
But here's another question.

If she was named VP and the Dems then won control of Congress and began investigations, would they be able to supoena a sitting Vice President?

9. Why not?
I'm sure she'd try to wiggle out of it.

However, the fact is that she was part of the pre-invasion deception and therefore she should be impeached and removed from office. That is something that should be brought up when she is appointed Vice President. It would be wrong to reatify that appointment.

11. New answer: GOP would see just how much racism drives their success
Many in the GOP base talk a good game, but when it comes right down to it, racism is a significant motivating factor for many of them (not all or even most, but enough to matter). And the GOP would get the first hand evidence of it if they gave an Afrian American woman true power. These folks would rather have Hillary and Bill back in rather than allow a black woman to be a heartbeat away.

12. Republicans would see her as Black and a Woman. No help there.
Democrats would see her simply as a corporate oil whore. No help there either.

13. No matter how much Cheney's resignation is called for he will remain
He is the evil in the empire.
Condi is only in power because she holds something over these monsters which means she is more evil than Cheney.
