A veteran corrections administrator says Gov. Jeb Bush ignored his warning not to appoint James Crosby as the state's top prison boss, a position the governor asked Crosby to resign from in February amid a growing corruption scandal.

An insider who worked his way up from intake supervisor, and a favorite of the rank and file, Crosby had a knack for politics and campaigned enthusiastically for the Bush family, raising money for the governor and his older brother, the president.
