Of Generals, Spys, and First Responders

The pendulum **always** swings. The laws of physics can not be violated. They are immutable. And so it is with political pendulums. And compasses. A magnetic storm might throw them awry, but eventually they settle. To True North. Moral compasses act the same. More immutable laws at work.

A retired general speaks out.

And another.

And then two more. And more again.

A retired spy joins the chorus. And then another and another.

An administrative functionary who worked with the First Responders.

They just can't take it anymore. Even some at the core of power. Whether to save their skins or their legacy, they speak out. We learn what we knew was true all along.

Confirmed.

The mushroom cloud. As dangerous as mushroom soup, as it now turns out.

Lies.

Nefarious desires.

The truth will out.

You see. Patriots. They care. They won't be silenced. They're the voice of those who still serve. On the outside. For those on the inside.

I have hope.

The growing legion of real patriots. Willing to stand. I thank them all. Even the ones whose reasons are less than pure. Even you Colin, you gutless patriot. Unique among those who stand ahead of you, you are a collaborator attempting redemption. Maybe another day, Colin. You should have led. You could have led. Instead you followed. But by your standing, as now you do, you enhance the image of the others. The ones you now follow. For they are true.

Patriots. Stalwart and reluctant. Pure and fatally flawed.

Patriots.

Generals. Spies. And First Responders.
