....yet he holds himself up to the *values voters*. Excuse me while I :puke:

Oh, and he also opposes ALL abortions, even those that threaten the life of the mother.

Blackwell and Petro largely have targeted their campaigns at the GOP’s conservative base. Blackwell would sign a law banning abortion in all cases;

Although he opposes potential November ballot initiatives to permit slot machines at Ohio’s horse-racing tracks, Republican gubernatorial candidate J. Kenneth Blackwell holds stock in the world’s leading maker of slot machines.

Critics say Blackwell’s investment in Reno, Nev.-based International Game Technology is inconsistent with his views on gambling because he could profit if the company ever puts slots in Ohio.

Brian Rothenberg, spokesman for the Ohio Democratic Party, said that as an owner of IGT stock, Blackwell "stands to make a profit off something he says he’s ideologically opposed to. How does he reconcile his conscience from his pocketbook? "

Blackwell spokesman Carlo LoParo said that is not an issue because Blackwell opposes the expansion of state-sponsored gambling and "there’s no conflict, real or perceived."

Blackwell defensive about stocks

BY JON CRAIG | ENQUIRER COLUMBUS BUREAU
April 9, 2006

COLUMBUS - Secretary of State Ken Blackwell's campaign for governor was in defensive mode last week when his annual financial-disclosure statement revealed he owns stock in companies that produce slot machines, voting machines, tobacco and the morning-after pill.

Blackwell's opponents quickly cried foul, since the Cincinnatian is against abortion and gambling.

In addition to Diebold, the election-machine vendor from North Canton, and International Game Technology of Nevada, Blackwell's multi-million-dollar portfolio includes stock in Halliburton; Weatherford International, a Houston-based oilfield company that moved to Bermuda to avoid paying U.S. taxes; Altria, the tobacco-producing company formerly known as Philip Morris; and Barr Pharmaceuticals, maker of Plan B, the morning-after pill.

But Blackwell's supporters weren't ready to sell him out.

Phil Burress, president of Cincinnati-based Citizens for Conservative Values, said, "His enemies are going to try to make something out of this. His friends are going to look at it to see if the iron man of integrity made a mistake.

"And those who know him know that he would never, ever, under any circumstances, knowingly do something or invest in something that's contrary to his values. That's why he has the support of the value voters,'' Burress said.

GOP corruption smells the same in Florida as in Ohio.

I'm just mucking around today while our FL legislature is in meltdown as Jeb is ramming his class-size and unconstitutional vouchers in for another vote.

3. When Neil Bush claimed that women knocked on his door
wanting sex but no money, I thought that laughable.

"Were they prostitutes?" asked Brown.

"I don't -- I don't know," Neil replied.

"Did you pay them?"

"No."

Not surprisingly, the revelation made headlines around the world. Equally unsurprisingly, the sex story overshadowed the curious financial revelations that came out in the same deposition.

Washington Post

Now you tell us that stocks do something similar? I must say I am indeed flummoxed!

PS--Did these stocks demand money? Or could you get them for free?

5. Neil Bush is just another link in the chain
of cronyism and corruption. This article helps point out the fact that the Bush Crime Regime has been screwing the public for as long as they have been around. It's disgusting, to say the least. Every failure they have been through speaks volumes of their characters. Get rid of this scumbag family NOW! I hope that their name is so disgraced that none of them ever want to show their faces in public again.

6. Isn't he also linked to Jack Abramoff?
If so, that wouldn't surprise me.
