C&L Vid Clip: Radio Host Zoller attacks Colbert for mentioning Tuesday

Of all the criticisms on Colbert that I've heard so far, this might be the most ridiculous. Can't these wingnut talk show hosts ever stop using 9/11 against people they disagree with?

Video-WMP

Video-QT

Lou Dobbs transcript:

Colbert: The greatest thing about this man is he's steady. You know where he stands. He believes the same thing Wednesday that he believed on Monday, no matter what happened Tuesday. Events can change, this man's beliefs never will.

Zoller: What came to mind after seeing "United 93" this weekend is 9/11 was a Tuesday, so that was -- and he probably didn't even think about a that, but for me, having lost friends in the World Trade Towers that was the first thing I thought of.

You can see the whole clip over on Jordy's site. Stephanie Miller was great.

1. I saw that!
What the fuck was she talking about?

A Tuesday? Colbert's joke about a Tuesday was an insult to the people who died on 9/11 because it was a Tuesday?

She needs to be wrapped up in something tight and put away where she can't talk any more.

What a totally idiotic simp of a woman. I think it was remarkable that no one laughed.

2. The wingnuts have invoked 9/11 about a thousand too many times.
Their twisted reasoning in deflecting all legitimate blame is patently absurd.

Colbert was RIGHT ON.

5. If it weren't for republicans
we wouldn't even have 9/11 to talk about!
So if they want to keep bringing 9/11 up, let them, it's the only
thing THEY have to show for the last 5 years!

6. "That was the first think I thought of." Are you EFFING kidding me?
Please, my chosen spiritual divinity, take me NOW.

Talk about cheapening a national memory--this absolutely takes the cake.

9. Everybody knows Colbert's M.O.
it shouldn't have surprised anyone at the WH that he didn't pull any punches. I'm more and more convinced that uniting this country will be next to impossible as long as people watch Faux, listen to talk radio and buy into the "liberal media bias" crap. Will they be blaming the media for everything 100 years from now? Instead of questioning their government, people question Dan Rather's motives? Yeah, that makes sense. Hey Martha Zoller, you seem about as intelligent as a... um I don't know, but you're stupid.
