Listening to new Peal Jam CD right now |
|
Alright, I have to be honest here, I didn't pay for it. I downloaded it for free but plan on buying it later on this week. I am more of taster when it comes to these kinds of things anyways.
Anyways, what a fucking indictment on the Bush administration and American politics!!!!! This album is expresses much needed anger that often is repressed from regular people. The lyrics are kinda written from an "outside in" perspective. Giving you the viewpoint of those who's views are often pushed out of the political debate because of the big money game.
Really gives you the view of a world on the brink of madness.
"Unemployable" happens to be my favorite song on the album. It hearken back to the days of Eugene Debs and Emma Goldmann.
The first tracks that I heard off the radio were "Worldwide Suicide" and "Severed Hand". There are many songs on this album that trump those and those are excellent.
I'm happy to see "political rock" finally making a comeback. I always felt that Rage Against the Machine left a void that needed to be filled.
IMHO,I have a feeling that Republican fans of this band will no longer be making appearances at their shows anymore.
Support your liberal musicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We liberals have always had the culture of this nation. Take advantage of it.

2. Pearl Jam and Tool are both "no brainers" to me. |
|
I didn't even bother trying to download torrents of those CD's. They were on sale at Target on Tuesday for under $10 a piece anyways. Both CD's sound awesome, by the way. Money well spent! :)

First track, "Life Wasted", sounds like a pilfered AC/DC song. If you buy the album at Itunes, you get a free vid. clip with interviews. I think the album is coming out at a good time, when people are ready to hear what PJ has to say. They have learned to talk about their political views without being too preachy, which can turn off a lot of listeners. If you have never listened to PJ, you should check them out.
P.S. does anyone else think "Do The Evolution" is the greatest video ever?

4. Michael Moore had the lead of "Rage Against the Machine" in Reno |

before the election last year. It was fecking awesome! He did songs alone. I was so happy, so were others.
You are so right, they left a hugh void ....

Is Riot Act had the Republicans pulling their hair out.
This one is bound to shed a few more of them.

They played a show there and did "Bushleaguer". The Republican fans made a stink at the show and walked at out. It was major news during their 2002 tour and the reason why they stopped playing it live!!!!!
This latest effort is a majot "Fuck you" to them and I doubt they will be returning. The band said that after their last album they would tone down the political references. After giving the last one a whirl it seems they amped it up a notch.
They have Republican fans but we won't be hearing from them this time. Anyones still around should be charged with "not getting it". Then again, they never "got it" to begin with!!!!!
