Bush backs brother Jeb for White House

By NEDRA PICKLER
May 10, 2006

(President Bush, left, is introduced by his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush, right, R-Fla., before speaking on his Medicare Prescription Drug coverage plan at Kings Point Club House, Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Sun City Center, Fla. Photo: AP)

ORLANDO, Fla. - President Bush suggested Wednesday that he'd like to see his family's White House legacy continue, perhaps with his younger brother Jeb as the chief executive.

The president said Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is well-suited for another office and would make "a great president."
"I would like to see Jeb run at some point in time, but I have no idea if that's his intention or not," Bush said in an interview with Florida reporters, according to an account on the St. Petersburg Times Web site.

The president said he had "pushed him fairly hard about what he intends to do," but Jeb has not said.

Jeb Bush has repeatedly said he is not going to run in 2008.

But even his own father said no one believes him when he says he's not interested in running at some point. Former President George H.W. Bush told CNN's "Larry King Live" last year that he would like Jeb Bush to run one day and that he would be "awfully good" as president.
The Florida governor laughed when asked about his father's comments last June. "Oh, Lord," he said and shook his head no. "I love my dad."

snip

Somebody please stop this maddening noise.

3. not 08... 16
It'll take the dems 8 years to clean up from the
last bush frat party, to balance the books and
to bring peace to all the wars.

Then it'll be ready for another trash talking asshole
to fuck it all up again.

5. I don't think so. Dubya has been working on solidifying executive power
and entrenching the PNAC philosophy in the White House, either he ain't leaving, or he has someone to hand the baton to. Who else but a PNAC'r? Jebbie is the only one on the list without a significant role in DC, yet. I can't see them passing up an opportunity to build on their gains, why give us 8 years to tear down what Dubya has done?

4. I think you're wrong about that.
I detest Jeb, more than Shrub, because he actually can speak an entire sentence, and at least seems to be quite a bit smarter, BUT I think Jeb realizes the Country is Bushed Out! I don't think he's dumb enough to try to run a loosing campaign. Sometime in the distant future, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried, but not in 08!

wants to keep building on their "momentum", so why let what they've done so far get swept away and have to start over again?

12. I am betting Jeb in'12
he may feel that there will be enough time for people to forget his brother's presidency, I think though there may not be another Bush in the White House until this generation dies out in the 2050-2070's

13. I think that depends on several things.
First, it depends on what happens to Shrub in the next 2 years.

Second, it depends on the next Prez and how good or bad they do the job.

Third, if the corruption in Congress continues to uncover more Pubs at the rate it has been, the Pubs may have to form a NEW PARTY to ever win an election again!

President predicts GOP will retain control
By Bill Cotterell
May 10, 2006

ORLANDO - Deftly dodging questions about Florida's Republican Senate race, President Bush predicted this morning that the GOP will keep control of Congress - with or without beating Sen. Bill Nelson - by running on a "very strong and positive agenda" of economic growth and military strength.

snip

The president said the Republican Party's chances of holding its congressional majorities for his own last two years in office will improve.

"We have a very strong and positive agenda that, when articulated to the American people, coming down the stretch in the campaign, I'm convinced that we will continue to hold majorities in both the House and the Senate," he said

Kinda reminds me of when the chimp told Russert... "Oh, I'm GOING to WIN."

Let's see, where are our hand-counted paper ballots.... hmmmm.

9. Bush v Gore in 2008?
If I was in Jeb's shoes, I would just love to show my brother that I can be a better and more popular President than he was (not to mention - pappa Bush).

Jeb would have no problem raising money from corporations and religious nuts who for one reason or another are uncomfortable with "the maverick" John McCain.

The only question is whether he runs in 2008 or waits until 2012.

No more Bushes, no more Nixons, no more Doles. There's been one on every ticket since 1952 (excepting the the great '64 Goldwater race). Somebody else can have a chance. I tired of being led by the same old people...

I don't think we'll see another Bush president. The Republican and conservative base now realize that we've been had -- these are, and always have been, country club liberals who are desperate to fit in with the "right people" from Skull and Bones and the Ivy League who look down their noses at anything "right wing", except when they need their votes at election time. We don't need another boondoggle Medicare prescription drug plan, higher spending than LBJ, an endless and unnecessary war 10,000 miles away that costs the lives of our best men and women at a horrendous price for an ungrateful populace, while ignoring our borders at home and castigating those who care about maintaining this coutnry as a viable entity as racists. The Bushes would be nowhere in politics but for Ronald Reagan, who unfortunately, made 41 his vice president. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on us!!

The irony is that Jeb is the smartest of the bunch. His bad luck, I'd guess.

Yeah, he's the best president ever with 31% poll number.
He's losing conservatives by the thousands every day.
He may be a good and decent man, but his policies are driving conservatives out. And that is a fact.

Ah, if you've seen one traitor to the nation, you've seen them all.
I've had enough of the Bush's and their globalist, elitest clap-trap.

I don't think any current Republican is worth voting for. ...Third party, here I come. And I have to say I don't sh*t if it puts Hillary in the WH. These people just trade the job back and forth anyway. The right and left arm of the same ugly-a$$ gorilla.

23. Jebbie's hand in the third picture has to be the softest looking hand ...
- man, woman, or child - that I've ever seen! That's the hand of a man that has never, not a day in his life, had to do manual work!

Creepy! Shaking hands w/something that soft & flaccid? Can you imagine the shudder? And you know what they say @ what a man's hands & fingers tell you, don't you?

That must be the physical equivalent of a silver spoon?

And judging from his high red color & pork ... homey isn't gonna live long enough to cash in on the family reign in the US treasury!
