1. FAQ:
Edited on Fri May-12-06 11:16 AM by Inland
"I think I would like to be a part of this. What should I do?"

You COULD check to see if the lawyers named are located in your town, and call them to volunteer to be a named plaintiff representing the class. They can tell you what that will involve on your part.

"I don't live near any of the lawyers."

Then sit back. If the class action is allowed to proceed, you don't do anything until you get a card in the mail telling you how to "opt out" of the class. Most times, if you do nothing, you remain a class member and entitled to your share of the huge bucks on settlement or judgment.

"Yes, Big Bux! How do I get my hands on the big, big money?"

Sooner or later, the case will be resolved. If favorably, you'll get a card with a proposed settlement or announcing a judgment and asking you to do something to get your share.

4. the ACLU
is a non-profit organization. It's not like Rev. Lawson is going to get a check for $20 billion and move to the Bahamas.

The point of these lawsuits is to penalize the telecos and hold the government accountable. Or do know of another recourse we should take against the NSA wiretaps?
