Truthout: Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted
May 12th, 2006 @ 4:33 pm

A Dem Daily reader just tipped me to this Breaking News story from Truthout’s Jason Leopold, who is reporting that Karl Rove will be indicted soon and “will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him.”

Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted
By Jason Leopold

Friday 12 May 2006

Within the last week, Karl Rove told President Bush and Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, as well as a few other high level administration officials, that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case and will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him, according to sources.

Details of Rove’s discussions with the president and Bolten have spread through the corridors of the White House where low-level staffers and senior officials were trying to determine how the indictment would impact an administration that has been mired in a number of high-profile political scandals for nearly a year, said a half-dozen White House aides and two senior officials who work at the Republican National Committee.

9. jitters
I share your hopefulness, but with yet another nail driven into this administration's coffin, doesn't it seem likely that a caged Bush will lash out now, if ever? With our warships reportedly en route to Iran and talk of sending National Guardsmen to the US-Mexico border, I must admit I feel somewhat anxious. It's now or never for Bush; that's what scares me.

5. He won't be looking perky much longer

Although old Karl is looking perky, in the photo above taken yesterday, it certainly looks as though Karl Rove’s days as the master manipulator are numbered ...

8. They must have known about this a month ago.
Bush fired Andy Card and brought in Josh Bolten. Rove lost his "domestic portfolio" and was moved closer to the exit by concentrating on ther mid-term elections.

They must have known.

14. I think they've at least suspected as much.

My husband said that they kicked kkkarl sideways probably to make sure somebody else will have settled into part of his duties, purportedly because they expect him to be absent or "otherwise engaged." Maybe seriously sidetracked by the focus he'll HAVE to shift to his own defense. Not sure even kkkarl can keep that many balls in the air, especially when it's his own personal neck on the block.

I have been waiting for this for a LONG time. A REALLY LONG time. This will be SWEET if it's true. I'll wait to celebrate, and haven't yet bought champagne. But when it's announced, I'll be ready to splurge on some really wonderful champagne. FRENCH champagne. WHATEVER comes of this, just the sheer demoralization effect on the rest of his troops will be worth its weight in gold-pressed latinum, and all the chocolate on Planet Earth. Just the panic and turmoil it will throw republi-CONS into, in general, will be SO sweet to watch. They're already a mess over what bush has done to their election prospects in November. This would probably drive a few of them to drink - and worse...

Gee, somehow it's all of a sudden just not fun to be a republi-CON anymore, is it?

16. More from Truthout - Rove Indicted
"Fitzgerald served attorneys for former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove with an indictment charging the embattled White House official with perjury and lying to investigators related to his role in the CIA leak case, and instructed one of the attorneys to tell Rove that he has 24 hours to get his affairs in order"
