Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted
Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted
By Jason Leopold
t r u t h o u t | Report

Friday 12 May 2006

Within the last week, Karl Rove told President Bush and Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, as well as a few other high level administration officials, that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case and will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him, according to sources.

Details of Rove's discussions with the president and Bolten have spread through the corridors of the White House where low-level staffers and senior officials were trying to determine how the indictment would impact an administration that has been mired in a number of high-profile political scandals for nearly a year, said a half-dozen White House aides and two senior officials who work at the Republican National Committee.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources confirmed Rove's indictment is imminent. These individuals requested anonymity saying they were not authorized to speak publicly about Rove's situation. A spokesman in the White House press office said they would not comment on "wildly speculative rumors."

15. CNN Headline: Duke Rape Case!!
MSNBC (Keith) has an intriguing story of how a new book describes men as being like dogs, and how to train them. Covered all week in the morning shows, no one has mentioned that there was a movie based on this silly subject starring Sandra Dee. Many years ago. Yawn. Nothing yet on Karl, but I have no doubt whatsoever that this story is true. As per usual, blogs are far ahead of the msm. Z-z-z-z-z. When the cable news networks are finally history, no one will really miss them.

17. that's true...........no one will ever miss them!!
earlier I was watching Wolfie and just as I started to change channels to watch KO, I heard Paula Zahn say something about breaking news like it was a big deal so I went back to CNN during KO's opening. Guess what? Her 'big news' was about the Duke rape case.........major yawn! :boring:

Last week on Real Time, Clooney made a good point. He was talking about the Darfur situation and compared it to Natalee Holloway. True, the Natalee situation was bad but it only affected 1 family!! The Darfur situation affects many more people...........so why is it so important that we hear Natalee TV 24/7?

18. Be fair. Keith was toward the end of his show where the fluff is,
and he is not about to engage in premature jocularity over what truthout alone says.

He will wait until Fitz hands the indictments down. And that's the way it should be.

I want this as bad as anyone, but let's not expect anyone to jump the gun just because of what one source says.

22. I didn't mean to suggest that I watched CNN instead.......
.........I always watch Keith!! I just meant that once I found out Paula was talking about the Duke case, I switched back to KO!

Keith, on his worst day is always better than CNN!!!

23. No, I agree with you. Keith probably hates the puppy dog stories
as much as you and I, but he can only push the envelope so far. I don't fault him, but I hate the fact that the networks tie his hands (and mouth) with these bullshit stories. Aren't there enough trivial shows in the evening slots to cover this crap?

Sorry, just frustrated, but when I want to hear about Angelina and Brad and Jennifer, I go to Access Hollywood and ET and Deco Drive, but when I go to MSNBC, I go for entirely different reasons.

26. that's true............
....but to be fair, even Edward R Murrow had to do stories he didn't want to do so that he could do the stories he DID want to do!!

I don't fault him for that either.........since it is probably out of his control.
