says "Exit polls: Edwards wins S.C. on economic issues Most respondents said issues, not electability, determined vote". That's the way democracy should work.
I wish it had been that way in New Hampshire, we would have won by a mile, where Dean captured 60% of the "I care about the issues vote". Kerry had only around 15% of that vote.

Kerry won among issues voters (economy, health care, education), too. Check the exit poll data.

2. Uh - democracy should work by people voting and |

having their votes counted. Why they voted the way they did is not really relevant to whether "democracy" has prevailed. By the way, I don't trust exit polls for determining why people voted the way they did. Most people can't or don't want to tell a pollster why they voted a certain way and certainly a bunch of canned questions are unlikely to tease out the correct answer.
