Al Gore Says He Might Run in 2008! |
|
Al Gore Admits to Liberal Group that He Might Run in 2008! When asked (begged) to run for president in 2008, Al Gore replied: "I’m a recovering politician. But you always have to worry about a relapse." Al Gore's 'relapse' could be the best thing that ever happened to this country. http://guerillawomentn.blogspot.com/2006/05/al-gore-says-he-might-run-in-2008.htmlhttp://guerillawomentn.blogspot.com/

9. What, exactly, could he have done after the election theft? |
|
Edited on Tue May-16-06 04:14 PM by Bridget Burke
The other Democrats (except for the Black Caucus) had abandoned him. The Media were "tired" of the story. He had NO legal recourse.
Perhaps Gore's campaign could have been run better, but I still could not see how any sane person would prefer to vote for My Governor. The shocking behavior of the Media didn't help.

13. There was nothing Gore could do. |
|
Even prior to the SCOTUS ruling it was over. The longer Gore protested, the more alienated from politics he ultimately would become.
Maybe 2008 will be his shining moment.

10. I would move mountains for tha man... |

I would volunteer, contribute, and a do everything in my power to get him re-elected.
Not sure if I'd work that hard for just any Dem. President Gore is absolutely the right person for 2008.

12. This has to be so tough for Gore. |
|
I don't think anyone can truly imagine what it's like to be in Gore's skin right now.
Who would want the job of president in 2008? Gore inherits total and complete disaster. He's a grandfather now, and has spent the past 6 years putting the 2000 election in the past, and moving on to a new phase in his life. Now, just as he's hitting his stride with a new cable network, a new environmental investing fund, and a new book and film on a subject that's been important to him most of his adult life, a new identity and life... people are asking him to run again.
Who in their right mind would want to put themselves through it again? All the insane wingnut mockery, all the family attacks, all the lies, the nonstop campaigning, the threats, the insults, the constant fundraising, the condemnation from people who are supposed to be on your side but find you imperfect and thus condemnable.... all the hate, scorn and fury, for what? So you can be blamed for all of Bush's failures because you couldn't fix the mess he got us in?
Al Gore is a better man than this nation deserves.
I wouldn't blame him a bit if he chose not to run.
But, just the same, I hope he does. I think he's by far the best human being for the job. He fits this moment in history perfectly. Is America smart enough to choose him? That's the question.

I agree, calmblueocean, but the nation needs him desperately. I can't think of any candidate that would unite the left and the middle like Al Gore. Just imagine, a president who appointed people to high office based on their qualifications! I voted for Nader in 2000, but I did it from a safe state, not my homestate, Tennessee. Still, I need a chance to make amends, and so does Tennessee and the nation. God, I hope he gives us another chance.

No, I honestly believe America deserves Al Gore - it's just the Republican neo-cons who don't deserve him.

17. Google "gore 2008" for 163,000 hits. This idea is all over the internets. |
|
Google "clinton 2008" and get 86,500 hits. Who knows if it amounts to anything, but there are twice the hits for Al Gore as for HRC.
CAN YOU SAY GROUNDSWELL?

I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. All I ask is that he campaign with all the fire and gusto he's been showing the past few years instead of the "Mr. Nice Wooden Guy" he showed in 2000. We know he's got it in him!
