MSNBC: Kerry threw South Carolina to inflate Edwards as VP
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 10:42 PM by TheWebHead
To make Edwards seem like a credible national candidate to put on the VP ticket they let him win by a significant margin... per Campbell Brown

addded.. Brown attributed it to spin within the Kerry Campaign.

6. This is just crazy
Kerry would be stupid to do this and I don't think Edwards would let this happen. MSNBC just falls to pieces.

10. This theory assumes Kerry is an idiot.
NO candidate would throw a primary election. NO ONE.
:kick:
There is no news on the news anymore!

9. THREW?????
I swear, Kerry could throw flaming dog shit at an elderly black Jewish amputee, and still it would be touted as some shrewd campaign move. :puke:

hopefully I'm not the only one here watching msnbc... Kerry's on with Matthews now, but hasn't asked him about this gossip yet though.

perhaps "throw" is too strong a term, but rather lay off the state and concentrate elsewhere achieving the desired affect.

16. MSNBC
Wasn't it just yesterday that I heard Campbell Brown breathlessly report that the Kerry campaign believed they were going to win in South Carolina? The quote re: Edwards was something like "He can't even win in one of his own states!" And that is total BS about Kerry pulling back on his ads in South Carolina--I know--I live here! Both Kerry & Edwards have ads in what seems like every single break of every single show on every single network (plus cable) here in the past week. Kerry ratcheted up his media blitz here in the last week, not decreased it! And if the Kerry camp thought that saying something this idiotic would help entice Edwards into becoming Kerry's VP candidate. . .well, I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to question the wisdom of the Kerry campaign!

14. The stories I kept hearing last week were "Kerry needs to take SC away
from Edwards and he will have the nomination" Kind of a "kick him while he is down" sort of thing. Not that he was down so to speak, but it was all about how big of a win it could've been for Kerry. I swear these media idiots think we suffer from short term memory loss!

15. They didn't THROW it, they just said they were glad he won
because it would make him a stronger presence on a ticket.

Campbell spun it into "throwing" it. She's one of the worst of the Bushlovers.

17. Campbell Brown
MSNBC has already yanked Campbell Brown from sharing the Hardball desk with Chris Matthews. They need to seriously reconsider yanking her from field reporting as well. She's just awful. But she's got to be the spin doctor's wet dream come true--tell her something and she's going to report it as the gospel truth.
