Latest Poll in Florida: Nelson 60%, Harris 33%
This poll has made my day. Just had to spread the happiness! B-)

Florida Senate: Nelson (D) 60% Harris (R) 33%

May 22, 2006--Senator Bill Nelson (D) from Florida has hit the 60% level of support in his bid for re-election. The latest Rasmussen Reports election poll shows Nelson leading likely GOP challenger Katherine Harris (R) by twenty-seven percentage points, 60% to 33%.

This Senate seat was once considered a a pick-up opportunity for the GOP. However, as the Harris campaign imploded earlier this year, Florida Republicans were unable to recruit a top-tier candidate to challenge Harris in the primary. As a result, Nelson is now one of the nation's safest incumbents.

Senator Nelson is viewed favorably by 66% of the state's voters and unfavorably by just 23%.

For Harris, the numbers are just 42% favorable and 50% unfavorable. This includes 41% who have a very unfavorable opinion of their former Secretary of State.

This keeps getting better! B-)

This is one race that will be real hard for the GOP to steal.

2. My favorite post found on FR...
(replying to another poster)

...She didn't "scare" anyone away. The RNC had months to find someone to run and they chickened out and took the low road. She has won all of her elected races. You and the RNC naively believe that people are still upset over the 2000 election.

Well, actually, yeah...

I guess E.E.E. assumes everyone "got over it" by now.

3. There's the "Backwash" again...
As Stephen Colbert described in his appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner... "The last third is usually backwash" referring to that last third of the population that keeps supporting the President in the polls--seemingly no matter how badly he performs.

The "Republican Backwash": Those who refuse to accept reality and blindly support their leader--no matter how he molests them.

4. Wanna bet the machines say the race is a lot closer, or that she won?
And that if this is the case, that not a few Floridians form angry mobs and smash a few of those machines?

5. Don't count her out. She can still do it. Those polls are rigged.
Oooooh, Katherine. You've got lots of money to spend. Go for it - don't let those polls scare you off. Daddy would be so proud of you. $10 million is all it will cost to get that Senate seat.

7. Nelson will hold that seat. The GOP hoped for a pick up there but
it isn't going to happen.

I hope Harris depresses the GOP so much that Jim Davis can whip Charlie Frist or Tom Gallagher.

Florida would look better in blue.

9. But, but, but...
Katie told Sean Hannity that her internal polls said she was doing just swell! Great, I tells ya! She's confident that she's got it in the bag.

I wonder if she was ever dropped on her head when she was a baby.

11. Just wait till she finds out all these numbers are rigged and that
its much WORSE....

Then when the elections are over...she finds out she got more votes but they weren't counted due to some screw up and its too late to do anything...no recount either...

Bwahahahahahaha

Come, we toast to the poor homely thing with pnuematic tits and tire chucks for nipples.

12. Fla also has 5 Democratic Reps Returning to The House Unchallenged
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-stbriefs24_606may24,0,6572241.story?coll=orl-news-headlines-state

TALLAHASSEE -- U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings has been re-elected to an eighth term because the Miramar Democrat's only opponent has withdrawn.

Constitution Party of Florida candidate Carl J. Lauderdale IV of Tamarac had written a $6,484 check to cover his qualifying fee May 12, but it never was processed, state elections spokeswoman Susan Smith said. Lauderdale, 29, a software engineer, said he decided to drop out last week because his wife is having a difficult pregnancy.

Hastings is the fifth of Florida's 25-member U.S. House delegation to win re-election unchallenged. All five are Democrats. Other unopposed Florida representatives are Allen Boyd of Monticello, Corrine Brown of Jacksonville, Robert Wexler of Delray Beach and Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston.

Wasserman Shultz is my rep.
