complaining about. I hear callers everyday on c-span saying it is alright to search american citizens homes. What is good for the public is good for them.

1. Jeez
You ought to hear the Repuke Leadership screaming about the FBI searching Jefferson's office - you'd think these guys were actually worried they might be next.

6. And if they have nothing to hide, why are they opposed to
election monitoring by outside agencies or any sort of election reform? The answer to those questions
is too obvious to even discuss.

10. because it compromises separation of powers
let's say you had a corrupt executive branch that wanted all of the power and that pesky Congress, even though most are in your party, but they still have power to curtail your glorious plans. Well, you wouldn't send the FBI in to raid one of your own party members, after all, you could have had them raid Delay, Hastert, Frist or Cunningham's office--no, it has to be the opposition. Now you know this guy is dirty, how do you know? Maybe because your party attempted to coerce him to your side at one time with bribes. First, the FBI raids his house and finds evidence, actually it could be enough evidence to indict; but that's not what your after. The FBI is sent to his office, which is unprecedented, then raids the office. Now all of the congress critters see that the executive branch has raided the office and know that this goes directly against separation of powers. The executive branch gives the shot across the bow that they can raid anyone's office--now they may find incriminating evidence and they could also plant incriminating evidence. With a complicit media, how will you defend yourself? So, the executive has a plan for another war, and the Congress critters knowing that their constituency (who voted for them) are not biting, they may back down. But, the executive has other plans, so they raid a few congress critters offices and coerce or blackmail said congress critters to tow the line or they will expose them. Now the evidence may be fabrication or not, but the damage would be done. So, the executive branch gets their war hard on with a very complacent Congress. Hell, the executive decides, I've usurped all of the Congress powers, why have a congress anymore? It's just for show for the unwashed masses anyway. Hey, I can go one further, I might have taken an oath to defend the Constitution of the United Stated, but my fingers were crossed. I have no opposition, therefore, I declare "I AM KING" AND THE MASSES YELLED 'LONG LIVE MAD KING GEORGE"
