That's how long Bush wants to hold onto Rep. Jefferson's files. This is the decision he made after our Congress demanded to have the files returned to the Congressman. Dennis Hastert and the might Republican Wurlitzer machine let the White House know that they meant business. They wanted those files returned and pronto. Bush slapped them down rather quickly. And they whimpered away with their tails between their legs.
Now, after the fact, we are told that Alberto was going to quit if Bush gave the files back to the Congress. So, Bush supposedly tells the Solicitor General to keep control of the Congressman's records records for 45 days. Something really stinks about this whole mess. And it's not just William Jefferson's shenanigans. There more going on than our late great reporters and "investigative journalists" are telling us...

1. Technically, isn't the court or the grand jury supposed to have the |
|
papers? A subpoena was issued by a grand jury months ago. Was * running interference? WHAT is in those papers?

3. It's all a delaying tactic in order to |
|
make the corruption issue bipartisan come November.....
Think about it...
Why else would the GOP House leadership come to the defense of a democrat...
Stand on principle...
Yea right....
These guys would sell their mothers for a few bucks...

5. This tactic is so transparent I'm amazed no one seems to see it |
|
It is simply to keep the corruption 'bipartisan'.
The counter to it is easy: Every Democrat needs to stand up and tell Jefferson to resign. NOW.
I know ... innocent until provend guilty. Wrong! That's for a court. For politics, there is no such bar and to have our side call him out does nothing for his being shown guilty or innocent. The standard for elected officials **in office** is the *perception of guilt* .... and Jefferson meets that standard walking away.
