Poll question: Of the following traits which Hillary has, which 1 is her biggest asset?
If it can be figured out, the other candidates might learn from it and use it when they go up against her in the primaries. If they can figure out what her greatest strengths are, considering she has so few weaknesses, perhaps they can do a little brushing up on their own somewhat average personalities before they challenge her in 2008.

I realize it's going to be hard to pick just one, but if you had to pick the one personality trait that MOST exemplifies Hillary's advantage, which one would it be?

Edited on Wed May-31-06 09:49 PM by ocelot
Not so much. I have to agree with Keith Olbermann's comment on Countdown this evening -- he said something to the effect that while he didn't want to dis Hillary, she needs to do something about her speaking style; he said she always reminds him of a teacher who's caught him chewing gum in class.

IMO, Hillary's biggest advantage is the fact that the media have already chosen her as the 2008 candidate.

10. Other. I think some of all those things in degree, but most of all
I think her greatest advantage might be that she may be a master planner.

Her management strategies might be better than anyone knows.

But I don't think it will be enough for her to finish in the lead in the Iowa caucus. I just don't believe she will translate to voters in Iowa and New Hampshire.

If I were in New York, I'd vote for Jonathan Tasini in the primary and Senator Clinton in the general, as I expect her to prevail in the primary.

But I'm looking elsewhere for first-tier choices for the 08 nomination.

But New York is not in New England. However, being a Senator from New York is at least as problematic as being one from New England at this time. I say let's have a red stater at the top and bottom of the ticket. Couldn't hurt, might help.

>>But Senators from new england do not get elected President.<<

What are you talking about? MANY presidents were from New England including Bush 41 and Bush 43.

George W. Bush was born in New Haven, CT, went to grade school in TX, then moved back to New England to attend high school, college and grad. school. He also spent every summer in Maine.
His father was born and raised in Massachusetts.

FYI, Sen. Clinton grew up in Illinois and now lives in New York (neither are in New England)

35. Her husband Bill , and astrologically..she's a freakin Scorpio
Edited on Wed May-31-06 10:29 PM by Blaze Diem
Scorpios NEVER forget public humiliation.
The likes of which she received by those repukes who tried to silence her attention to National Health Care. When she and Bill first began their task of managing this Nation, Hillary was immediately silenced and I believe she has been waiting patiently to someday kick their neocon asses.

Her day will come and she will have the last word.
That's the mark of a true Scorpio.
Never underestimate their patience to right a wrong done unto them.

I can think of a few other Dem statesmen that would lend credit and honor to the Office of President of the USA, but I believe revenge is still a quiet seething secret for Hillary. Not the Main focus of her desire to be Pres., but certainly would be lovely white icing on the White House shaped congratulatory cake.
She'd really be happy jamming her fingers in their arrogant Neocon eyes till they bleed.
And she is exceptionally bright. World and politically savy..
Her connection to the Republican party comes from her younger days as she worked for the Goldwater campaign, her father was a Repub man, I believe.

Apparently she has crosssed both party lines, but despises the Neocon ground the evil empire of BushCo may someday be buried under, by Hillary, if she had it her way, that is.

I'd be curious to find out just what Hillary could do to crush the head of the snake who looks an awful lot like Newt Gingrich.
Wasn't he the one who yapped loudly about Hillary's "place" as first lady?
Who else was there?

Ouch! I would be wary of trying to bitch slap Hillary into silent submission...Neocons should be walking with their hands closed snugly around their necks...ha!

Hillary is not the typical GOP bimbo, say like, Katherine Harris, for instance.
If she is ever in the White House, she'll kick their stupid man-butts till they cry "mama"!

Off with their heads!

hehe!

54. And, to me, that's not an asset - that's a wimp.
I had a cheating husband. I was a stay at home Mom who freelanced. I made, maybe, $300 a month.

And I still kicked him and his wayward dick outta my house.

Yes, I still loved him (don't now), but trust? Out the window, baby.

If Bill did to me an eighth of what he's done to Hillary, he'd be out on his keister.

But, hey, it's not my marriage. And, ultimately, I don't really care.

I still reserve the right, however, to say that I think she's a wimp, though.

What a waste of time. Got a solution, speak out. If not shut the fuck up.

Look, you party-pooping bitter POS. I've offered more than my fair share of suggestions on ways to help our party, along with plenty of constructive insight along the way (I'll be happy to give you some links to other threads of mine if you wish)....just not in THIS thread, which FYI happens to be just a little piece of "fun", a little "break" from it all, if you will.

So I don't need to be told by some 60-post internet wiseass dipshit to shut the fuck up over a thread like this one. Congratulations, though, for being the ONLY dimwit on this forum, maybe in the universe, who is so fucking bitter about anything and EVERYTHING (I've read some of your other condescending posts to other DU'ers) that you didn't realize what's going on here. Now if you don't have anything pleasant to contribute...in a thread that's obviously been taken in good humor by everyone but you...then simply run along to the nearest golf course and water the 18th with your flood of whiney ass tears, Mr Country Club BITTER A-HOLE.

Don't be mad. Be glad! Hope that helps.

I actually like Hillary and I think she'd be a formidable candidate and would make a good president if elected, one who would be out to heal the country after she got in power. I also think she's underrated here quite often, but she brought that upon herself mostly from her stance on the war, so I don't blame people for how they feel about her. I don't like that part of her either, but I think she's doing what she feels she has to do to get elected. I don't think the real Hillary is one who cares for war at all, unless it's as a last resort, like General Clark's philosophy. Hopefully, she'll wise up and speak out more against the war and the occupation.

She's not my first choice, though. Until someone else comes along, Wesley Clark is right now. Having said that, I think Hillary takes as much unfair abuse as she does fair criticism.

As far as this thread? Let's just say I'm happy at how nicely most everyone has seemed to take it in stride with their good humor and all. I was expecting to get a ribbing, and I wasn't disappointed!

All in fun...

69. She is "married" to Big Dog
Many people voted for George W. Bush in 2000 thinking that they were going to get a younger version of his father. They were mistaken!

Many people want Hillary to run for President in 2008 because they long for Big Dog. They will be disappointed!

Surely we can find a President from outside the royal families of the Bushes and the Clintons.

73. That's what I was going to say
I initially wanted her for President for that exact reason. But I can't support her because of her views on the war.
