CNN runs article by RW author claiming Left harrassing Swift Liars
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 12:17 PM by ProSense
Snip...

Now we read that the campaign against the Swifties is going to gain momentum. The sorehead Kerry supporters have joined together in a group called the Patriot Project. It will seek out the Swifties and scrutinize their complaints against Kerry. It will also support opponents of the war in Iraq and visit editorial offices to make the case for such veterans as Rep. John P. Murtha, a Vietnam War vet who now opposes the Iraq War.

All of this sounds like political harassment to me. But as the shrinks are wont to say, "If it is true for you, it is true for you." For a certitude, the left wing of the Democratic Party believes that whatever it believes is true. Kerry believes he would be president today if he had not been Swiftboated. He has hired a researcher to prove from naval archives that he was in Cambodia three decades ago for a few hours when the Nixon administration said he was not supposed to be there.

RW covers up for the fact that CIA was ferried into Cambodia by swiftboats
who ran them in COVERTLY while Nixon was LYING about it. See, if Kerry is right then Nixon and Kissinger were LYING ABOUT IT.

That's what makes this a bigger issue to the RW and they will smear Kerry from here to eternity.

Sadly, some DUers will join them.

Let's ascribe all sorts of self-promoting motives to his behavior! Let's show how absolutely useless he is and ignore anything positive he's ever done. And let's not forget to poke fun at all of his followers while we are at it.

What a convoluted piece of logic.

The subtext of this little RW screed is that the right can say what it wants to take down and opponent but if said opponent fights back then he is a nutcase.

Political harrassment, indeed.

This is a prime example of projection. SInce this guy seems to need to analyze behavior I suggest he look up "projection." Accusing someone of doing what you yourself are doing.

Projection, Tyrrell, is what you are doing.

Novak part of the coy "they said, he said" reporting onslaught. He also tried very hard to claim the GOP weren't involved.

This is not that! This is attacking the anyone who denounces the Liars, holding them up as credible and further attacks Senator Kerry. Here is how the writer refers to Senator Kerry:

Consider the ongoing controversy over Sen. Jean-Francois Kerry's military service in the faraway Vietnam War.

I think it proves that beyond being a self-aggrandizing, self-indulgent showoff, this guy is a nut.

10. Yeah, how dare we defend ourselves from the lying bullies.
It's like the documentary I saw on the Kalahari Bushmen. The tribe returned to their village to see it burnt to the ground. One of the tribe asked the (white) police officer why they burned down the village. The cop told him to never ask him why. But he had to ask again. And the cop kicked him to death. 100 years later, they finally got their village back, after years of hard efforts.

We'll fight until justice is achieved.

Lets see, they made lots of money for what they did, made lots of friends that they otherwise would never have had, and they got their 15 minutes of fame extended by an unethical press, and yet they are being thought of as victims?

I hate how the right wingers are always claiming themselves to be victims of the evil left. Poor, poor republicans, they only control most of the country, the three branches of government and the fourth branch, which would be the press. Damn, those poor people have it so bad I think I might shed a tear. No, actually I just vomited a little.

Scaife's money.

Palast was on C-Span with him a couple weeks ago and ate his lunch. All Tyreel could do was call Palast names and try to make him into a conspiracy nut who believed Roosevelt knew about Pearl harbor. Palast handled him like Ali did Ernie Terrel. Basically Palast talked past his smears and stayed on the attack and said "look at the documents"... I love it when Palast juts smiles at them...

These freaks have too much invested in their lies to give up the Ghost now.

16. I sent CNN an email - though it won't help
In reference to the Tyrell article on the the Swiftboat Smears:

This article is beneath CNN. The Navy has verified that John Kerry served honorably and that he deserved the medals he received. The SBVT have been caught in several obvious lies, while Kerry's account is consistent with the official record and is backed up by all but one of the men who reported to him. (In terms of fairness, consider the media dropped the TANG story when documents that backed part of the story couldn't be authenticated.

The tenor of this article was obvious from the beginning when the author, thinking he was witty, referred to the Senator as Jean-Francoise Kerry, instead of the name his parents gave him. John Kerry and his friends - which Tyrell used to claim he didn't have -have every right to search for documentation that debunks every lie spread by these RW funded liars.

Senator Kerry has served his nation in various positions for nearly four decades. The author has spewed hatred for nearly as long. Far from being self- aggrandizing or a nut, Senator Kerry has lived his life with integrity, dignity and honor; the same can not be said for this author.

Publishing this garbage puts CNN at the level of these hate filled creeps. It also sends the signal that any soldier who runs for political office as a Democrat may have their sacrifice used against them. I hope that makes you feel proud as you go through your day. If you had an ounce of integrity, you would pull this article.

28. "Sen. Jean-Francois Kerry"
"Any innocent observer who watched the showboating senator from Massachusetts bungle his 2004 presidential campaign must know that he is today a self-aggrandizing, self-indulgent showoff. Why would he not have been one as a youth, back in the late 1960s, when he brought camera equipment into the jungles to film himself at war?"

"This strange man chose to make his Vietnam experience a major theme of his presidential candidacy. This is a matter for a seasoned psychiatrist to explain. To the rest of us, it appears as egotism at the outer reaches of sanity."

"No matter the occasion, he (Kerry) doesn't miss an opportunity to parade his campaign wounds however incoherently and obsessively."

"What does this prove? I think it proves that beyond being a self-aggrandizing, self-indulgent showoff, this guy is a nut."

Yet, according the the author, It's Kerry who is using "political harrassment" against the SBLiars.

:wtf: Is this man certifiably insane or just bug-fuck nutzoid?

without a wire? Did they forget that he also was audacious enough to appear taller than Bush?

Seriously, when will they drop the "filmed himself in VN" stuff - from "Going Up-river" to the campaign ads, I doubt there was more than 5 minutes of Kerry in the movies - and in none of that was he doing anything remotely warlike.

37. Thank you, ProSense.
I wrote to CNN. They should be ashamed.

Something else Mr Tyrrell can 'leave to the professionals', obviously, is any pretense of objective journalism.

The disgusting screed presented on CNN.com "Swiftboating has become a hate term", is little more than right wing hack commentary and far less than what should meet the standards of CNN.

What man, Mr. Tyrrell, would not be justified in defending himself against attacks of the long-ago exposed lies of O'Neill and his Republican funded smear merchants? Do you think Senator Kerry is not entitled to vindicate himself? In what distorted version of America is a person not entitled to speak in his own defense?

Why, Mr. Tyrrell, do you hate America?

No veteran should be in the position to have to defend his medals. If they were presented, barring any proof that they were not deserved (AND THERE IS NONE IN SENATOR KERRY'S CASE), they were earned. Period.

Mr Tyrrell has dishonored the service of everyone who has worn the uniform and earned commendations for bravery in combat with his disingenuous and disgraceful hit piece. That said, of course, most of the chickenhawk Bush administration is safe from his attacks.

Mr R. Emmett Tyrrell is a sad excuse for a writer, an obvious apologist for the Swift Boat Liars and the Bush administration, and a vet-basher. Got a defense for that one? Why don't we have a look at your service medals and see if they stand up to scrutiny?

How dare CNN print this garbage.
