Ned is running for US Senate to stand up for progressive democratic values. He has real business experience and strong progressive values, and will fight for universal health care, good jobs, protecting our Constitutional rights, and a woman's right to choose.

You've worked hard to raise over $65,000 for Ned these past few weeks. Give yourselves the night off and join Jim and Ned for a fun and exciting evening.

3. Love it
The GOP and DLC were complaining that Lamont's Connecticut campaign was getting help from outsiders, meaning grassroots progressives across the US. Now here you are helping kick a Lamont thread. Think how pissed off the established Party politicos would be if they knew that the outside supporters were not just limited to the US.

4. Help from outsiders? Oh, my.
Maybe that is what they, the party establishment, are doing in at least 3 races in Florida where they have literally picked the candidates already, two of them former Republicans...and are already training them. Jane Harman's PAC, SecureUS and The Third Way, part of the DLC, are training at least 3 in Florida that I know of.

Tim Mahoney, millionaire, turned Democrat last fall after our state chair Karen Thurman and Rahm Emanuel recruited him; Christine Jennings was hand-picked over Jan Schneider in Katherine Harris's old district...neither of these have any experience at all in politics.

And in Ginny Brown Waite's district they have picked Rick Penberthy to train. It is all over his website how Third Way supports him.

I have a partial post done about these trainings, but not complete yet.

I mean, talk about help from outsiders???? They are running our state's primaries completely, and they dare talk about outside help?

5. This Third Way of the DLC's is a real danger to the party
It acts like the Club for Growth inside the GOP party. Watching the primaries across the nation, I keep seeing Progressives being forced out of races by the DLC using the basis that the "moderate" candidate is the one who is more likely to get elected.

<rant>A DLC democrat is an invertebrate, turncoat, rightwing, cowardly, consorting with the enemy saboteur who does nothing but enable the Republicans. People who put up with them are either deluded or colluding. </end rant>

8. Yes, join Ned for a night of fun
Maybe Jim Dean could get his brothers scream down, and Ned can raise more money just to lose to Lieberman by 30 points.

10. Unfortunately, weeds sprout up in a beautiful gardens as well as your
posts, MF, but I do love the sound of desperation from those Lieber-weeds. It's music to my ears.

We had a meeting this AM in Lamont's Meriden, CT office. See Lamont campaign blog for more info http://nedlamont.com/blog . More people than anticipated showed up on a Saturday morning.

13. If Lamont is no threat, then why get so angry about it?
That is so silly for you to get that way over it. It is all just nothing at all, right?

Actually all of us realize that this is a big deal, to put someone up against a long time incumbent like Lieberman.

But it is the start of something different, it is start of people speaking out and saying they are angry.

14. Not so fast, Joementum-boy
It ain't over til Tex-Mess mucks up the election for your boy. Among Connecticut Democrats, Junior has a 7% approval rating (squirrels?) and a 91% disapproval rating.

All Lamont has to do is to continue to press this precious picture:

25. Lamont's not desperate. He's giving Lieberman fits and rightly so
Lieberman thinks that the senate seat belongs to him, not to the People of CT and he threaten Democratic delegates and CT state level elected officials who would support Lamont. But Lamont got 33.4% of the delegate vote, over twice what he needed to get onthe primary ballot, despite all those threats. And Lamont garnered over 10,000 valid petition signatues by the May 19 convention day, so Lamont would have made it on the primary ballot regardless.

If Lamont was desperate, he'd sound like Lieberman, who has threaten to bolt the Dem Party and go Independent.

Lieberman is a cry baby.

21. Lieberman supports the war in Iraq, and he wants a new war against Iran
Lamont wants the troops out of Iraq ASAP, like Kerry, Murtha, and Feingold do, and he doesn't want a war in Iran.

24. Yea, I've tried before
I have arguments for why Lamont is better than Lieberman and I am always up for a nice civil debate. Unfortunately it seems like most of Lieberman's supporters just like to make witty remarks.

Why DFA Believes in Ned Lamont
by Tom Hughes
Tue Jun 06, 2006 at 01:28:47 PM EDT
Cross posted from Blog for America.

Two weeks ago when DFA endorsed Ned Lamont, we did so because he is the right candidate for US Senate. A successful business man, Ned has the skills and experience needed to promote fiscally responsible legislation.

Ned believes--like most Americans--that we need a solution to the war in Iraq. And with the support of over 60,000 DFA and MoveOn members, not to mention countless others in Connecticut, Ned Lamont is an active member of the grassroots movement

Late Friday afternoon, the DLC attacked the grassroots movement, calling us "liberal fundamentalists" who threatened party unity. DFA is committed to promoting socially progressive, fiscally responsible candidates who stand up for the beliefs of their constituency. We are proud to support Ned Lamont in his campaign, and proud to support a party that promotes genuine debate.

If we are going to win back our country, then we need candidates who can inspire every last member of the Democratic Party. On August 8, Connecticut voters have the chance to determine the future of the Party by acting on principle, not on blind faith. Democracy for America will support whichever candidate wins the primary. We encourage the DLC to do the same.

Tom Hughes
