MICHAEL STRIMLING for Governor in the Calif Democratic Primary...
Send a message to our two, "business as usual" frontrunners, Angelides and Westly. Check out Strimling's web site and weep for a true Leftist (i.e., mainstream in Calif) platform! www.michaelstrimling.com. Ex.: Angelides and Westly both support capital punishment. Strimling opposes it. Need I say more? Okay, Strimling wants to tax big corporate landowners (the true beneficiaries of Prop 13). Really, weep for Populist California, the most progressive state in the nation, once upon a time. And help push whoever wins, of the two big-funded candidates, to the MAINSTREAM!

------------

Also, please see my thread on DEBRA BOWEN for California Secretary of State, if you are uninformed on that critically important primary contest.

4. I just caught up with this smartass remark, Tom Joad. I take it you don't
remember what the Democratic Party used to be like, before Corporatists took over the leadership. We could actually be Democrats and vote for an equitable society and for representatives who advocate for the poor, for workers and for minorities. Now what do we have? People who want to please global corporate predators and the loony corporate news media, and who are beholden to their richest contributors. I walked precincts for the California Democratic Left (the true mainstream of California) when I was 16. I know what my party was like then, and what I want to see it become again, and I will not be driven out, and marginalized, by the likes of you, who are always posting short, snide, thoughtless, demoralizing, comments like this one with regard to any effort to pull the Democratic Party back to the true mainstream.

I didn't say that Angelides and Westly might as well register as Republicans. Could have said it. Didn't say it. Because it's divisive and counter-productive. We work with what we have, with what's possible in this highly corrupt political system, and try to remove Nazi Boots fascists from political power. But the Democratic Primary is where we of the mainstream can get a word in edgewise in the dialogue of the Corporatists. You would shut us up, us REAL Democrats, the labor Democrats, the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act Democrats, the stop-the-death-squads-in-Latin-America Democrats, the Social Justice Democrats, the anti-NAFTA Democrats, the pro-Constitution "balance of power" Democrats, the anti-war Democrats. The MAJORITY Democrats. You would run us all out and marginalize us. Well, take your divisive comments elsewhere. You don't own the Democratic Party, though you seem to think you do. Run along and "divide and conquer" somebody else.

2. I'd love to do this but
it's too close a call between Angelides & Wesley and in that one of them will win the nomination, I really have to go with Angiledes on this one.
