There was once a highway in Arizona with the number of State Route 666. It started near Willcox and wound it's way north through Alpine and Springerville. It was a slow windy road, but the scenery is outstanding. Somehow, some religious folks decided that it was the devil's highway and pulled some strings and got the road renumbered. A buddy of mine (an atheist) was outraged and wrote to the governor, but his letter couldn't restore the original number. Separation of church and state??? I don't think so.

1. US Route 666 still exists.... it goes north out of Arizona up through Utah |
|
the religious folks you speak of just probably got the signs in their particular stretch removed, not the road renamed. but interesting enough despite.

4. Isn't that a bit extreme? |

The number 666 itself can't hurt you! As long as you don't have 666 stamped on your forehead you're safe, so they say!
Since today is 6/6/6, has anyone checked Bushie's forehead today?
