RW response to my LTTE
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 12:31 PM by knitter4democracy
I had a letter printed a week or so ago in response to a right-winger's totally bizarre letter blaming Clinton for 9/11 and everything. Here's a different letter writer's response to my letter: http://battlecreekenquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060608/OPINION03/606080322/1014/OPINION

They really are crazy--I've already had three people today tell me just how insane that letter is. I mean, it's all Clinton's fault?! Yeah, and he hadn't been president for nine months or anything . . . All to protect and defend their dear leader. :eyes:

Edit to add that it's at the bottom of that linked page.

2. Apparently it was from a vet.
In this area, that's enough credentials to write anything for the paper. Forget that the Bush Administration itself, including their dear leader, admitted that they weren't there . . .

5. One of my most successful lines in getting "conservatives"
foaming at the mouth:

"If Clinton were president on 9-11, there would not have been a terrorist attack because Bill Clinton did not need a terrorist attack."

It brings some to the verge of heart attacks, but I sincerely believe it. Presidential briefings warning of an attack??? I'm a vet and I'm happy to be retired. I retired when bush was president but got my Presidential certificate of appreciation signed by Clinton. Turned some heads when it was read at my retirement ceremony.

7. That's a good one.
:D

I'm going to try that one next time I get it from the right. I'd put that in a letter, but they're only letting everyone get published once a month. I'm thinking of asking for an editorial job, though. They only have one left-leaning editorialist, so I think, in the interest of fairness and selling papers, they should hire me. :D

3. Yes and yes
I realize it was a LTTE but I wish papers would use more editorial discretion in what they choose to print. The right wing floods publications with these sorts of things to deliberately maintain false beliefs about the war and numerous other issues.

4. 3000 people
more than have been killed in Iraq? What planet is this person from? But yes everything is the fault of the Clenis. Bill and Monica had apparently two trysts...which is hardly an affair, but this guy/gal thinks it was happening 365/8 Hah!

6. That one got me, too.
We've lost almost 2500 soldiers, who knows how many mercenaries, and God only knows how many Iraqis. The numbers don't even compare.
