For the sake of the country, let`s unite behind Republicans.
Let`s put the country ahead of party for once and ditch this idea of a Progressive Democratic movement. Haven`t we had enough of these tired old hippy fads that cling to outdated positions? How long are we going to carp about feeding the poor and demanding defense attorneys for frisky seventeen year olds? I mean, should we really give a damn that so-and-so doesn`t have health insurance? Am I supposed to get all indignant because some woman with two kids gets paid minimum wage? Haven`t these people in "dire need" ever heard about savings accounts?

And the war in Iraq. Good grief! All this cut and run talk. Don`t Democrats understand how much $MONEY$ we have invested over there? What are we supposed to do with all our new bases and that huge new embassy? Raze them? No. We can`t. It`s a perfect opportunity for us to have a Middle East "presence", a vantage point from which we can conduct important business. Think oil. Think gas. Think about our future energy needs. If we simply turn Iraq over to Iraqis, we`ll lose control. Before you complain about body counts, remember the dead and maimed soldiers were all factored in ahead of time because freedom isn`t free.

Think jumbo, think super-sized! Why do you think planners lean toward all these gentrification projects? Do you really think Mom and Pop sit on their store stoop at night telling the neighborhood kids about the good old days? Of course not. Planners are improving things. Paving parking lots. Building box stores with food courts. They`re updating all the communities by eliminating risky shoestring operations. It`s called moving forward, so let`s get with the program and dispense with the complaints about concrete and plate glass. Don`t you appreciate the fact that you can go into a nationally-recognized chain and choose from 63 different cups of coffee? Well, you won`t get that in some tiny shop owned by someone`s uncle who came here from Rumania in 1957. So, forget this back-to-basics stuff. It ain`t happening and Republicans know it. In fact, they approved it.

Zell Miller was like the Democrat`s pace car on this issue. One stop in the Republican`s pit and he was hooked. Joe Lieberman was following so closely behind he didn`t even need headlights. Zell`s glow showed the way. But, a bunch of Democrats are still in the dark, still nit-picking over AT&T cooperating with a simple government request, still yapping about fuel efficiency, going on and on about stem cell research. We don`t have time for all these silly diversions. Let`s rally behind the Republicans and make America stronger. Let`s hand out some pink slips, weed out the riff-raff, and support those in positions of power. If a CEO can get $135,000,000 a year, go for it! Let`s be part of the winner`s circle instead of wasting our time fighting for people who really don`t matter in this new scheme of things. Why would you want to run around your neighborhood just to leave five bucks at a Feed the Hungry bake sale when you could drop a load at Senator Frist`s $1,000-a-plater and get something in return? See where I`m going with this? It`s all about coming out on top.

1. This is funny.
It's terrifying how accurately that portrays how some people think. But as parody it's funny. :)
