Democratic minimum wage promise 2006
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 03:52 AM by iconoclastNYC
Democrats note that the minimum wage after not being raised for 10 years is at a 50 year low in terms of inflation adjusted purchasing power.

To reward working American families Democrats propose raising the minimum wage to a 50 year high range of $9.00-$11.00 an hour depending on locale, indexed to inflation henceforth.

1. I wish.
Since its inception, there has been no successful attempt to peg the minimum wage to the rate of inflation in the US. You'd think somebody in the Democratic Party would've succeeded in doing so after 70 years, but nobody has.

2. Everybody, regardless of job should be able to lead a "decent" life.
The trouble is - what does "decent" mean?

4. Yeah it's alarming
The left wing has been boxed in.

Our party will suffer the effects of the "Democratic Leadership Council" for decades.
