The problem with Congress writing legislation to give scrub the ok for |
|
the trials of detainees is this... (in my opinion) No matter how they write the legislation, the commander-and-thief will just ignore whatever the rules are, claim he has the okay from congress to hold his inquisition-style trials and move on. And no one will really pay any attention. arlen spectre (I know that's not the correct spelling) will piss and moan for a week, claim that he's going to hold exhaustive hearings, then at the last minute claim that the admin and congress have come to an understanding and no hearings are needed. And that...will be the end of it.
