Bush was never promoted past Lieutenant in the TANG
I was in the Army during Vietnam. Any Lieutenant with half a brain was promoted to Captain after a couple of years as O-2. Bush's daddy pulled strings to make the kid a Lieutenant after a couple of weeks in the TANG. Every other enlisted man had to complete a rigorous 6-month OTS before becoming an officer. Even with that head start, Bush never was promoted to Captain. Six years in the Guard, and he was still a Lieutenant when his AWOL-ass was officially discharged in 1974.

A repuke friend was trying to defend Bushit's TNAG record, and I just had to dump this on him. You see, this Bush worshiper was both active duty and a NG pilot during the 1960's and early 1970's. He was promoted to Captain in less than 4 years after entering the Air Force. Bush claims he served 6 years, yet after he was magically made a Lieutenant in the Summer of 1968, he never made it past the rubber-stamp move to 1st Lieutenant. Only total fuck-ups spend another 4 years without the automatic promotion to Captain.

My buddy checked out Bushit's records. Now he doesn't want to talk about the subject. He is also strangely quiet on the Chickenhawk list I sent him, the War in Iwreck, and most everything else his hero is wrecking. Another notch in my gun.

4. Keep repeating the facts -- the truth
and the guys who really served may one day open their ears to hear the truth.

5. They couldn't even kick him upstairs, he was so lame.
Which I don't care about.

Except for the cover-up, and all the smears, and swift-boatings, and thefts, and co-options, and subversions of our Constitutional democracy that have gone into kicking him upstairs anyway.

6. Even as the son of an influential senator and business tycoon?
Damn, he must have been so bad that he stunk up even the "Champagne Unit".

What a total waste of oxygen and good booze.

7. Why don't we keep pushing the draft-dodging, chichenhawk facts
about these bastards. It's time to take off the gloves. These chickenhawks keep calling us traitors and america-haters, yet they were all fucking draft-dodgers.

9. Yup.
Standard time to O-3 was three years after commission. So Smirk should have nailed the railroad tracks o/a fall '71.

If you really want to mess with a Smirk worshiper's mind, ask 'em why, following their boy's failure to take that mandatory flight physical, there was no board of inquiry and/or reclassification action. Details available upon request.

10. I sent a copy of my DD-214 and George's ANG-22 to my dipshit brother
and told him to compare them (mine is an ACTIVE DUTY discharge form).

I also sent him a copy of the form taking George off of flying status, along with a photocopy of the page from his "autobiography" where he claims to have flown for his unit for "several more years."

He pretty much shut the fuck up about The Brave Little Chickenhawk after that. :P

Here is a great page detailing how George went AWOL (actually desertion, for which he could have been executed during wartime...REAL wartime, not the PR/oil clusterfuck we have now).
