Ernest and Judy have five children and seven grandchildren.

Ernest has never voted for a tax increase.

He’s voted to cut taxes over 50 times and has been honored as a “Friend of the Taxpayer” and named a ”Taxpayers Hero.”

Ernest has "A" ratings from National Right to Life and the National Rifle Association.

He's been honored for his work on behalf of traditional marriage and the family.

Ernest has voted over 60 times for lawsuit reform, including for 100% of the lawsuit reform measures signed into law by President Bush.

Ernest has won twelve straight elections, starting in 1982.

One poll has him 8% points behind the present democratic governor, who won b/c the right was split between the republican candidate and an independent who ran against building more toll roads. (That's what I remember, anyway. The OK road system and its mismanagement angered many people, enough so that a candidate ran with these concerns as his only platform.)

In strong SoBapt OK it would seem that a Mormon would not have much chance; he IS a congressional representative. BUT on social issues there's little difference between SoBapts and Mormons. ALSO I doubt many SoBapts in OK realize he's Mormon; it's rarely mentioned in the news. Those who might want to use his religious affiliation against the religious and RW voters in OK have qualms about using such 'religious bigotry.'
