I spoke against this Wal-mart yesterday. The vote by the city council was delayed a week. This project is in jeopardy. Please vote no at the bottom of the page.
Do you think a Wal-Mart should be built at 72nd and Hickory Streets?

Council delays vote on Wal-Mart
BY C. DAVID KOTOK

Three council members suggested that Wal-Mart make one more concession - fewer overnight hours - and company officials hesitantly said they would think it over.
The council will take up the issue again next week.
An artist's rendering of the Wal-Mart planned for 72nd and Hickory Streets.
Every other Wal-Mart in the metro area is open 24 hours. The 72nd Street project should not be singled out and treated differently, said Wal-Mart spokesman Ryan Horn.
No one with the city could recall imposing restrictions on the number of hours on any supermarket, discount store or drugstore.
Councilman Franklin Thompson was a sure no vote, saying he was siding with area residents who think the Wal-Mart Supercenter would be too massive, open too many hours and too disruptive to the neighborhood.
The store would have nearly 200,000 square feet and 887 parking stalls.
