I want to post something, but I just don't have the words. I can think of some words, but they aren't nice, and probably wouldn't do much good for the cause.
And besides, we all know that if you're "angry", anything you have to say is therefore discredited. Maybe that's a new rule, because Jesus turned over those moneychanger tables, which sures sounds like an angry public display to me, and still seems to be well thought of in many quarters today. But I digress...
I am livid because of this
Joe Lieberman Called Me a Plant by Maura
http://www.myleftnutmeg.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=2062 I mentioned Maura yesterday in my diary about Joe Lieberman and his extortion against his fellow Democrats. Now he is smearing someone I know personally...
Joe Lieberman was incensed.
He'd just been confronted at a campaign event for Irish supporters in his hometown of Stamford, Conn., by a woman who lectured him about his lack of commitment to the Democratic Party.
"She was a plant," said Mr. Lieberman, complaining to two campaign staffers in the parking lot behind the Irish Tigín Pub. "It was a set-up."
This, writ small, is what has become of Mr. Lieberman's political career.
You want to talk about "plants"? Joe Lieberman seems to think he is firmly "planted" in his Senate seat, and is furious that anyone would dare try to uproot him.
I know Maura--I met her virtually on Blog for America, and later in person when I shared a room with her and some other fellow "Deaniacs" at the first DemocracyFest two years ago. She used to be "Maura in VA" but moved to CT to care for her dying father. That people like Maura, and many other members of my "blog family"
http://dean2004.bmgbiz.net/blogfamily.html actually *make* the time to get involved in politics is awe-inspiring to me. We're not talking about career politicians--we're talking about ordinary people who already have enough on their plates, but who care enough about their country that they add the hard work of activism to their already busy schedules. These are the *real* patriots--and they are the people Joe Lieberman continues to grievously disrespect every time he puts down not only his opponent, but the volunteers who support him.
