Slanted news coverage of Lebanon
No need to be specific. No doubt you've seen it too.

When the Israelis get a rocket hit, we get to know how many are wounded or killed. We get details.

When Leabnese get hit, we get a military target report, but no mention of casualties.

This same shit goes on daily in Iraq.

There's no pretense, even, that these are ALL humans.

OUR humans have NO LESS VALUE than their humans.

I hate what we have become under the fist of the Republicans.

1. To be fair, in other Israeli reprisals, we didn't get the other side
either. Even when Clinton was president.

Terrorists acts against Israel get front page, lead story coverage and in depth descriptions of the casualties. Terrorist acts BY the Israelis, which are far more numerous, get reported on the back page and little television coverage.

Do you have specifics? I haven't heard of any Israeli suicide bombers, kidnappers or for the complete destruction of the Palestinians.

5. Of course you haven't.
When Israel does it it's not called "kidnapping."

7. Wow, one response until Clinton was mentioned.
In any event, corporate media slant the coverage in favor of Israel. Even the online polls are falling into this trap of shaping American opinion.

3. In this case neither sets of casuaties are "ours". Israeli or Lebanese.
I've seen tallies for both sides consistently reported. The question is are the numbers accurate?

6. I've been seeing the casualty reports for the Lebanese side,
but then again, I get no news from tv.

We frequently lack the military target report for the strikes against Lebanon; frequently the stringers don't report the target, so all we're left with is the assumption that it was a strike targeting civilians. And, to be honest, some of the target reports can't include casualties because there were none, or at least not even severe injuries.

But when we hear the casualty report from strikes against Israel, we're getting both the military target report *and* the mention of casualties. But we never hear about most of the attacks because they hit nothing of value--houses, fields, trees, streets--with no casualties. In other words, they missed their targets.

8. Israel has lots of friends here in the press that hype their losses.
I dont think that the GOP even has to intervene to make them do it. NYT today is real bad. You would think that Israel is getting its butt kicked.
