What should a Democrat believe? |
|
Is there a minimal amount of liberal philosophy that one should believe in to call himself a "Democrat"? Or does it not matter at all? So long as you have a "D" by your name, you are a "Democrat". You don't have to believe in civil rights that has its roots in the modern-day Democratic Party. You do not have to believe in Social Security. You do not have to believe in public schools. You do not have to believe in any social programs to assist the poor. All you have to do is say you are a "Democrat". You can support George W Bush if you wish. You can vote against your Party if and when your conscience dictates. Is that what a "Democrat" means today?

good information to people is better than false information (or information that makes them spend money they don't need), if you believe in the enlightenment, democracy, the most efficient & best health care system (that helps productivity of business) and all... you are a democrat and a liberal.
