Crowley on Imus: Lieberman vs Lamont = Dem War Referendum
Monica Crowley is a great looking woman and seems like a nice person. She also appears to be intelligent. How did a person like this become a right wing nutjob?

On Imus this am she claims that the result of the Connecticut Senate race will settle the score on where the Democratic party stands on the war.

This is a crucial race with national implications! If Joe wins, the repugs will never let us hear the end of it. It is as if this is one of THEIR key races in November.

1. Intelligent?
Not IMO. Far from it.

How can a primary election in one small state equal a "referendum" nationally?

Did Imus or any of his idiotic ass-kissers ask her that simple question. Or were they too busy swooning over her looks?

"How did a person like this become a right wing nutjob?" Easy. Because she is stupid, just like all the RW nut jobs.

4. Tweety was on before her and said the same thing.
He said that this is one of the few times Dems could express themselves about the war, by voting in this primary. I agree; it's pretty cut-and-dried in CT. While that doesn't equate to what the rest of the country might think, it could indicate a political bellwether for other states.

5. She sees things differently, but a Ph D from Columbia in Intl Relations
would suggest that she's no dummy.

9. That sounds
like something all the fundamentalist southern baptists around here say about all the people who disagree with them.

"There is only one answer and if you don't agree with it you are sub human."

Interesting.

3. Crowley was an aide to Nixon
After he left office. So her mentors were people like Gordon Liddy, Chuck Colson, and the rest of the quasi-nazi nut jobs that Nixon surrounded himself with.

6. Granted she's smart but not much else
Monica can spout Riech wing talking points faster than anyone else
and she makes it look effortless... I guess that's a talent

The fact that she's "reading" news on MSNBC is disgusting....
Her beliefs are severely misguided and it's even more disturbing
that she lies nonstop without blinking a press-on eyelash.

It's most revealling that she belives it's her role as a "journalist"
to push her personal reichwing extremist position. I guess she never
heard of the higher standard called the TRUTH that most real journalists aspire to.
Monica's just another reichwing commentator .. a Limbaugh wannnabee....
and that's where she sees the money. Monica Crowley is an embarressment
to the entire news establishment.

As for her looks... they're questionable. I just think the over whitened teeth,
surgically corrected face, blue contact lens, spray on tan. peroxide blond look
to be a wee bit synthetic and disgusting.. but i guess it matches her personality.

Fakes and Liars like Monica Crowley should be run out of town.

8. She's definitely a looker, and I think she actually believes what she
is saying. That's what's scary. I thought perhaps Bush was going to make her his spokesman before he picked Tony Snow. I think she would have been dangerous in that position.

now and then. Same old RW talking heads slinging the same tired RW hash.

11. yeah...
...sounds to me as if the RNC really, really wants America to think of the CT race as a referendum on Iraq. And that indicates they think they know Joe is going to win.

Are the CT voting machines secure?

12. Well, I trust them. No Diebold here in CT but
you never know. I truly don't think Joe would have the wherewithall to pull a Rove type thing. That's a Republican M.O.

But, as I said, you never know. There could be other shenanigans.

13. As much as a dislike Lieberman
I really don't think that he would consider stealing the election, even if there was a way he could. Besides, unlike Ohio and Fla. there are way more Democrats here and even most of the Republicans are not wingnuts. I don't think you could pull something like that off here. And another poster who has worked in polling centers explained to me that it would be very difficult to steal an election using our old fashioned lever machines.

15. True.
I didn't think of that. But because of our lever machines, as I said it would be extremely difficult.

16. Crowley said something that really annoyed the hell out of me,
considering she's an "anchor" part of the time on MSNBC. It was something about Lieberman being the only normal Democrat or sane Democrat or something like that. How can anyone that biased be put in a news anchor position?

20. she used to be the RW half of the Tucker debate team on MSNBC
with Tucker being the lefty, of course. So I guess you can see why that matchup didn't work and they yanked it.

17. I think it is a referendum on Party loyalty...
Had Lieberman come out and said he would abide by the primary results, I think he would have won the primary...

I think that announcement killed him!

23. Even though I have no "dog in this fight" I think you're completely
on the mark with your comment.

I'm not saying Joementum still can't pull the primary win off, but if he doesn't I think he'll look back on making his announcement of running as an Indepedent with big regret...

What's that old Texas saying, "you dance with guy that brung ya".

A truly intelligent, unbiased anchor might have better sense re: the company one keeps and is photographed with.

22. "How did a person like this become a right wing nut-job?"
Lots of wealthy corporate sugar daddies giving mindless complements and bearing expen$ive gifts and pay-offs. <wink wink>

She's sweet "eye candy" but no less a sell-out to honest investigative journalism ... just like that other cutie-pie "Noran the Moran." :P

Men who are able to think with the "big head" once in awhile understand the draw of pretty commentators spewing right wing jargon. :(
