California OC Democrats officially call for cease-fire. |

Edited on Tue Jul-25-06 05:54 PM by Padme Amidala
At the July 24th, Central Committee meeting of the Democratic Party of Orange County, the members voted for a resolution calling for a cease-fire. The resolution was hand-drafted during the meeting by the Chairman of the Patrick Henry Democratic Club. The committee voted to waive the by-laws to allow the resolution to be presented as an emergency resolution. Then it overwhelmingly voted down a motion to postpone the resolution until the next meeting. Finally, the committee members, with more than 80% voting in support of the resolution, adopted the following cease-fire resolution.
Orange County Democratic Party Support for A Cease-Fire in Lebanon, Israel and Gaza
WHEREAS the current Middle East crisis has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent children and people in Lebanon, Israel and Gaza; and WHEREAS each day that the crisis continues, more and more innocent civilians are killed, and WHEREAS the only peaceful solution is a cease-fire wherein all parties to the conflict are required to discontinue all use of force; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Democratic Party of Orange County calls for an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon, Israel and Gaza; and THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Democratic Party of Orange County calls for the United States government to back the cease-fire and for the United Nations to enforce it and for this resolution to be sent to all Democratic members of the California Congressional delegation.

that this "islamofascist crusade" was planned a long time ago, that the boys want the Arabs to fight each other, that they want to draw Syria and Iran into the fray.
For all those here making excuses for their favorite candidates not calling for an IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE, it may already be too late to put the horse back in the barn. While you're gathering together, raising your banners, and singing your candidate's praises, keep in mind one-third of the casualties are children.
Kucinich has legislation which is something, but people are dying while it is drafted, and then, of course, the Rs will prevent it from seeing the light of day.
Kofi Annan has called for a ceasefire, but he has been so marginalized by Faux News at the behest of the White House, that he is ignored.
By not saying HELL NO from the get-go, it may already be too late. This insanity has go to stop, but there's nobody willing to step into the breach and scream it.

6. The PHDC passed the same resolution last night - unanimously |
|
No surprise, since the DPOC resolution was written by the PHDC chairman. The PHDC also passed a cease-fire resolution that was adopted by the 69th AD (written by the chair of the 69th, the AD where Loretta Sanchez supposedly lives). They also passed a resolution calling for an end to arms sales to Israel and other nations using them on civilians and called for criminal prosecution of anyone selling arms to Israel and other nations and groups using them on civilians.
