My LTTE supporting Lamont.

To the Editors of the Hartford Courant:

I don't understand why the Hartford Courant considers Senator Lieberman an antidote to today's corrosive politics ("For Experience, Mr. Lieberman," July 30).

By defending Attorney General Gonzales's characterization of the Geneva Conventions as "quaint", Mr. Lieberman has corroded our decency and willingness to abide by international law.

By continuing to support an expensive and counter-productive war, Mr. Lieberman has corroded our ability to pay for necessities such as health care and education.

By voting for the 2005 energy bill, Mr. Lieberman has corroded our ability to respond to the gravest threat facing our or any nation: global warming.

ON August 8th, when it comes time to choose an antidote to the Bush administration's corrosive policies, I'll be voting for Ned Lamont.

So many reasons to oppose Lieberman, so few words in a LTTE. Sigh. I almost wrote mine about how an inability to admit you're wrong isn't a sign of strength of character.

The editor who called me asked if Gonzales actually used the word quaint, and asked me to send verifying links. Educating the media, one editor at a time...
