7. OK, let's try this again. You said it well and succinctly. |
|
As I apparently did not.
Mods: I'm NOT complaining. You do a hard job well.

Some GOOD NEWS for a change! For once, I'm feeling just a LITTLE bit of hope and a light at the end of this nasty Republican-filled tunnel.

2. No, but we DO know that 26,000 people registered Democrat, or |

switched from Unaffiliated (as I did) to be able to vote for Lamont in the primary.
And if you're implying that the Republicans are responsible in any way for the Lamont victory, you're cordially invited to stick it in your ear.

3. None of them, unless they were brilliant planners and prognosticators. |
|
We have closed primaries here. Republicans had to switch party affiliation way back in May, when Joe was still holding his own and no one had any reason to think Ned had a snowball's chance. So I highly doubt many felt the need to switch. Plus, there was also a Republican primary Tuesday in CT. If they had switched, they wouldn't be able to vote for their own candidates. I just don't think the republicans were a factor.
29,000 new democratic registrations came in as a result of this primary, and I'd bet most of them stay in the D column. This was a phenomenal success for the Democratic Party in CT, and hopefully all across America.

said 26 thousand.
And thank you for jumping on this poster who wants to raise some bullshit invalid "point."

8. Well, then, they'd have had to register Democrat to do so. |
|
And I still resent the OP's implication.
This victory did NOT happen because of ANYTHING that ANY republicans may or may not have done.
The original post carries the stench of a swiftboat.
And I'll stand by that statement.

12. The implication was who many of them voted for their boy Joe |
|
There is nothing in the world that would logically lead one to think that Republicans would switch parties to vote for an anti-Bush Candidate.
On the other hand the closeness of the race might lead one to belive that Republicans in CT decided that they didn't want to be freezed out of the process (because face it they are in CT) and wanted to get a chance to vote for the man that they wanted.
I know I few republican and republican leaning friends of mine (well only 2) who did this.

I think it's a real question. And I'm glad you guys answered it. It was something I wanted to know about. But only you locals would know the answer to.
The knowledge that the repugs would have had to make the switch before it was known that this was going to be a close race, that ends the question for me. ANYONE who had dealt with campaigns against republicans would consider this an honest question. To help figure out who needs 'work.' Best to know honestly what we are working with. Then delude ourselfs.
Before you get mad. Just know that getting the answer to this question gave me lots of hope for November! The numbers show extream motivation. I bet those numbers put a fright in the GOP. If we are that serious during a primary, we are going to be that serious from now to election day.. and totaly over the wall on election day.

14. My original post did not carry the stench of a swiftboat thank you. |

I'm so happy the repubs didn't have anything to do with this win. I was just asking if some of the repubs did honestly vote for Ned because they know he IS the best choice.
