I'm very pissed! Someone took 2 political signs |
|
which were posted on a palm tree in my front yard. One was for the a woman running for the AZ State Legislature which was found across the street in my neighbor’s yard next to her house. The other for Jim Pederson, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, opposing Senator John Kyl. That sign is missing.
I called local Demo hdqs and was told to report the incident to the police, which I did. Damn it!!! This is supposed to be a free country !!!
The one sign is already back up and I’m getting Pederson’s replaced and am adding more for other politicos. No one is going to intimidate me! I’m going to have a front year full of signs and I’ll keep replacing them if I have to!!!

1. If you have a camcorder you should place it in one of your |
|
windows.....to catch the culprits....and then shame them for their actions.
This is what we all have to do....they have been bullying people for 6 years too long....
Good Lucke!!

2. Spray them down with pepper spray. |
|
You might not get the sign back, but you'll get some satisfaction (and maybe a lawsuit).

and replace them. And be a little flattered that they care enough to take the signs.
Two years ago I ran for the Kansas State House (I lost, of course) and someone vandalized one of my signs while leaving a Kerry one untouched! The woman in whose yard my sign had been was quite angry, and I of course replaced it as soon as she let me know. Why anyone cared enough to rip up my sign I'll never know, but we still laugh about that one.
There were countless stories of stolen and vandalized yard signs two years ago. It's really not worth getting all worked up about. Just put new ones in.

6. I post signs during every election and this is the first time |
|
in the past 26 years, since I've lived here, that anyone has touched them. Tells me this is going to ba a very nasty election year.

14. Glad to know that 2004 |

wasn't nasty where you are. Personally I think it's crucial not to make sign stealing or vandalism more important than it really is.
Back during the lead up to the Iraq invasion when we had anti-war signs in our yard they were occasionally stolen or vandalized. At one point someone actually put their own home-made signs in our yard, which said such things as: Hug a tree, hippy!
We thought it was hilarious, probably done by teens, and left them up for a few days, thinking there's something of a dialog going on here. Had I found the persons who did it, I'd have given them some sign-making 101 pointers. Use a black marker and make the letters wide and fill them in if you want them read by those driving by. Spell correctly. Stuff like that.
The yard signs are NOT where an election will be won or lost, but in the voting booth. You need to persuade voters to vote the way you want them, and then do your best to insure that all votes are correctly counted.
And if results vary from what polling, especially exit-polling, then we need to be prepared to take some kind of action.
Passively rolling over and accepting fraudulent counts has got to stop.

Would serve them right if they had to deal with a nasty rash for a few days. Shit, we've had to deal with the nasty rash that is BushCo for the past 5 years.

10. I think my friend's parents did that in 2004, when some jerk kept |
|
stealing their Kerry/Edwards signs. Serves the son of a bitch right, whoever he is.
